How many of the loaned out players do you want back?
How many of the loaned out players do you want back?
We've currently got 19 players out on loan. For my money the vast majority of these have either had enough opportunity to prove themselves and are simply not good enough, or are in the 'never will be' category
Which ones would you take back and which ones do you want us to allow to leave?
Keep
Ryo - he's shown enough on loan at Bolton to warrant a chance - not a regular starter but should be used as a rotational choice next season (god knows he looks a better bet than Gervinho)
Joel Campbell - enough promise. Perhaps loan him out again or introduce him gradually from the bench / Beer Cup games
Nico Yennaris - thought this kid showed a lot of heart and ability against some decent oppo when he had his chance. We are still short at right back anyway
Allowed to leave
Vela - seen enough to know he'll never cope with the physical demands in this country. Stay in Spain
Arshavin - lazy and disinterested
Bendtner - being better than Maryanne and SQP is not enough.
Lansbury - we need a radical overhaul in midfield and although I quite like the lad, I don't think he has the star quality needed
Mannone - one of the three stooges that are a total fucking embarrassment behind Chesney
Denilson - need I say more
Bartley - he's been around long enough and we've signed several centre halves ahead of him. If he's not ready yet will he ever be?
Eastmond - just not good enough. His loan teams are getting worse
Watt - on loan at Leeds, now Crawley !! Is that progress ?
Murphy - never going to be good enough. He's another who has been around long enough
Don't know enough about them to judge
Botelho
Aneke
Galindo
Wellington
Afobe
Hajrovic

Agree, but I'd add Galindo, Botelho and Wellington to the get rid list. can't have any type of shine in 2nd division spain, can't be arsenal material.

Fully agree with the allowed to leave list.
Only Bendtner would add anything to our squad at present, but he has had so many opportunities already to show his quality and failed to deliver, so get shot while we can stil get a half decent fee.
Between them you would think we could raise £20 million ? and a huge weight off the wages, which frees up some serious funds for players who will improve our first team and not just mearly make up the squad numbers with mediocrity

Agree with your 'keep' choices SteveO, but I think maybe a punt on the few strikers might just add depth(admittedly I don't know much about them too) but they can't be worse than the bench warmers we have to replace RVP at the moment.
I also think that Bartley might add a bit more bite to our squad as a 4th choice CB than JD.

Agree with SteveO 35's summery. The only difference in opinion I would offer is to to see given a decent chance to Henri Lansbury who I think has the potential to make a career at Arsenal.

Re: How many of the loaned out players do you want back?
Hindsight is everything, but I would have rather had Bendtner than current-form Chamakh or Park (who hasn't been given a chance whatsoever). Mind you with the Henry loan, we didn't need much cover for RVP...
Anyway, Ryo needs to start playing in the first team next year. I think Lansbury deserves some more time, and Frimpong will be a big boost if he continues to improve as a player.
Those are the loanees that stick out in my mind, and what I'd do with em.

I pretty much agree with the first list but I too would like to see Lansbury given a chance. I've seen him do well for England U21s (certainly better than Henderson, Mancienne etc).

Re: How many of the loaned out players do you want back?
Agree with steve-o's list, although ideally I'd maybe send all 3 of Ryo, Yennaris, Campbell out on loan to PL teams if possible, at least until January. Obviously only if they were likely to play regularly there, which might be a stretch for Campbell & Yennaris, but the odd beer cup match for us isn't gonna speed up their development, and I'm always in favour of young defenders especially spending some time elsewhere where 1) they may get some kind of basic defensive coaching and 2) they'll get a fair bit of match practice at it, being that they'll likely be playing for a weaker team. Not like they're gonna learn much on that front at Colney.

Re: How many of the loaned out players do you want back?
SteveO 35'd list ommited Frimpong from his list who prior to injury was on loan at Wolves.
I'd like to see Frimpong leave the club as he is an embarrassment and suffers from Bentdneritis, a terrible affliction that makes the sufferer believe he is much more talented than he is. He's also a prize prick.

I would agree with most of that apart from DENILSON of course.
And anyway he is coming home

Agree with SteveO.
Botelho though may be worth a season with us to see how he gets on?
Wellington seems like a waster.
Galindo had a bad injury so maybe needs more time.
Gavin Hoyte is being allowed to leave this summer.
Sanchez Watt seems to me to be far from the first team but apparently Wenger rates him.

Re: How many of the loaned out players do you want back?
Pretty much agree with everything in that post Quartz with the exception of Kyle Bartley.
When I have seen him play for Rangers he has been one of the better players, know its a poor standard but he gets stuck in and I think thats what we need (loved his tackle against Scott Brown last year). Can play CB or even DM and doesnt get pushed about. Would love to see him given his chance ahead Djourou and Squid.
