Our midfield is very average these days.

It's not a surprise though; sell Cesc, sell Nasri, lose Wilshere (and Diaby, I suppose) for the season and then, in recent weeks, lose Arteta, and what are you left with...?

We're paying for a dreadful summer. Wenger and the board should hang their heads in shame for putting us in this position.

Wenger and the bastards above from 2005 have ripped the guts out of this club,

How the fuck will not being in the Champions League be good? Look at Liverpool. It's won't be a "wake up". It will be fucking ridiculous. Cutting your nose to spite your face. I'm not 100% behind Wenger anymore but I wouldn't want them to lose out because of it.

If you think the signings we make when in the Champions League aren't any good I'd love to see what we russle up if we don't qualify. You think that by having LESS money the board would want to spend MORE and throw the whole wage structure out the window? :rubchin:

But Liverpool at least attempted to remedy it by making sigings in key positions and spending money to try to make their team better...........it just hasn't worked and they have Dalglish in charge who is nearly as blameproof as Wenger is due to his spell there as a player.

Liverpool want to be back at the top again, we are quite happy in the pack somewhere.

When Eboue gave away the penalty against the Scousers in the 138th minute a couple of years ago, it was the closest I've ever come to throwing an object through the TV. Today was nearly as bad. When Song gave the ball away in the build up to their 3rd goal you just knew what was gonna happen. Thanks Alex, I know you think you're the great Dennis Bergkamp when you put the odd ball over to the top to RVP but let me give you some advice......YOU'RE A DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER.

But he's not to blame, he's shit and it's not his fault. The Manager has again let us all down. His stubborness now means that I have lost respect for him and that's sad after what he's achieved.

Memo to David Moyes................

it was the complete lack of organisation after our 3rd goal that got me. we were 3-2 up in a very open game with ten minutes left... why did wenger not tell ox, song and rosicky to drop back into the centre 3 in midfield, keep gerv wide left but disciplined, same with chamakh wide right. tucked in alongside the midfield in a 4-5-1 with rvp up top holding up possession?!
instead he seemed to stay with 4-2-4, leaving no support for rosicky and song in the middle, and seemingly no bothering to track back and help out from specifically chamack, but gerv as well. both were guilty of seeing the ball lost and just walking back when norwich were all charging forward! and for the goal, gibbs was up the pitch, gerv was up the pitch and there was a fucking great gaping hole down our left side. one ball through and that's that

well something has gone wrong, bringing in virtual unknowns like Fabregas, Vieira, Petit, Ljungberg, Lauren, Anelka etc, etc and turning them in to superstars

now we bring in unknowns like Diaby, Gervinho, Chamackh, etc, etc and they are piss poor

Chamakh and Gervinho were not unknowns.

Generally it's because it's not that easy anymore. Every bastard and their mum scouts these players now. Back when Wenger was doing it at the start a lot of the managers in this country didn't have a clue. These players are few and far between now because all the top sides (not even just in England) are able to offer silly contracts to the lads early on.

Not being in the CL will not effect our transfer dealings as we do not buy players who can demand it.

Pololski aside when was the last time we signed someone who could turn their nose up at us?

Chamakh, Gervinho, Chamberlin, Arteta, Mertersacker, Park, Vermaelen, Koscienley, Jenkinson, Santos, Ramsey, Walcott, Diaby, are you saying those players wouldn't have come if we wasn't in the CL?

Also, not every top player is in the CL, there is talent out there, the best two signings in our league went to non CL teams, Jelavic and Cisse have been money well spent.

Not being able to attract top players because of not being in the CL is a myth, we don't compete or can't compete with the top teams as we keep being told so it won't be an issue.

Arteta actually said he came to Arsenal to play in the CL. I honestly doubt that some of them would have signed if we could not offer CL football. Don't forget Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey and Walcott were all wanted by sides like Man Utd and Chelsea at the time.

If we can't offer to play in the CL why else would you come? certainly not for the money. If we hadn't have been in the CL we certainly wouldn't have held on to certain players for as long as we did/have either.

Of course theres talent outside the CL. I know they are just examples but this forum would have destroyed Wenger for signing Jelavic or Cisse. They were gambles for Newcastle and Everton and for 4/5 months they have paid off.

Isn't that it though? Arteta came to better himself, that's the sort of player we sign, even those you mentioned, Walcott, Chamberlin etc all came to step up, very rarely do we sign a player that sees coming to us as a step down or sideways move.

We don't pay the wages or pay those transfer fees.

If we are not in the CL we will go for the same type, players that see Arsenal as a stepping stone.
