He was a left mid when he broke into the first team squad but Wenger moved him to LB. I'm assuming as he was left mid when he broke through, he spent his entire youth career at left mid too. We can't therefore expect him to become a premier league quality LB, it's a completely different game.

It's just another case of a decent young player having his career jeapordised by a change of position.

For me, we should have signed Baines years ago, we've left it a few seasons too late now really.

Not really he's only 27. Still years ahead of him.Experienced in the prem unlike Michelin man we signed last summer
