Yes, Chelsea had a change of manager and Redknapp was linked with the England job, but we've probably had more turmoil this season than any other in Wenger's reign.
All three clubs have had problems, and I'm really not convinced ours are less valid than there's.
The league table doesn't lie, and if we finish third then that's where we deserves to be.

funny how 'excuse-making' is OK on behalf of our London rivals
but any rose-tinters do the same for the team we all support they get rounded on...
The thing is the only excuse we can make for ourselves, is that we have a manager who has long since gone past his sell by date. So given the fact that this is an ongoing situation, it can't be considered a valid excuse, but is a fundamental rooted problem.

therefore every player who we can put in at fullback being injured simultaneously isn't 'valid'
There should not be any excuse making either ways, problems in all 3 clubs were self inflicted. We have had a season to forget and arguably our worst season under Wenger even if we end up finishing third. We sold our best players, replaced them with sh*t ones, suffered our most humiliating defeat, was never close to challenging for the title, gave of the worst away performances in CL in our history and got hammered and went out of 2 competitions in a week . If we finish third a then we would have deserved it sure, but it will be down to the others managing to be more poor than us. Also lets not forget the scum and the barcodes would have happily taken 4th and 5th at the start of the season, they have overachieved, we on the other hand had another season of same old same old and a bit worse. Lets not talk about the Chavs being poor, they have already won a trophy and likely to win another one.

I think the problem here was lack of decent cover in these positions, a problem that has been prevailant for a long time! now whose fault would that be Oh I've got it, our out of date manager. So not a valid excuse, but a failure on his part.

Look, it's not a dig. Loads do it, and they pay their money and make their choice. Makes for a good atmosphere, too... but I get annoyed with myself if I can't recollect a game clearly.
I watched England v Portugal in a bar in Copenhagen (when we lost on penalties), and I remember fuck all about it. Apparently, I was chanting Arsenal songs (like "Vieira, he comes from Senegal..", etc.) for some reason (and loads of Danes were joining in ) but as for the game... not a clue. If that happened during an Arsenal game, I'd be very annoyed with myself
