Arsenal Away Kit - 2013

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That's my hope of a 30th anniversary special of the Green shirt with blue sleeves gone :(

If this really is the kit then it looks fucking awful - Arsenal RFC. Surely it doesn't work as an away kit with those colours - we'll need a third that gets worn fairly regularly

Told ya in december and prove it now http://www.arsenalbrasil.com.br/?p=3779 we got our hands on the nike's salesperson guidebook, where it namely says purple/black, so yes, the design is right, but the colours were a bit off.

Hideous. Predictably hideous. Predictable because:

1. It's in keeping with how modern shirts are researched, ie. will they look good with jeans?
2. Because it's essentially a red shirt with blue hoops, it qualifies as an away shirt, but still necessitates a third shirt, which will no doubt be equally ridiculous.
3. It will keep people itching for the return of the yellow away shirt which, when it returns, will be heralded by Nike as a "return to a traditional style" and that'll make them millions.

The only thing more predictable about how ugly this shirt (and the home shirt) is, is that the club will sell tons of these. There will be a feature on the website about how people have lined out outside for the launch of the shirt and it will be hailed as a huge success, thus tightening Nike's grip on our shirt sponsorship deal and enabling them to have complete free licence to design whatever fucking garbage they choose.

I understand kids wanting to buy every kit. I used to be that kid. And I have sympathy for parents who would otherwise know better who are forced into buying these kits for their kids. But adults? Those adults who buy every fucking shirt that Arsenal/Nike release every year (and yes, LOTS of people buy all of them) are in part responsible for Nike coming up with this shit. If the money was in designing a classic red/white home and yellow/blue away and sticking with it, then they'd do that. Since it's not, they don't. The money is in releasing three ridiculous shirts a year, because they know that the British public is so irreversibly hooked on football that they'll buy absolutely anything that has the club badge on it.

I should clarify that I don't actually think the new away is that ugly and would think it'd look pretty good on any other team. However, seeing as it's an Arsenal shirt, I fucking hate it.

Not as much as the home makes that aneurysm in my brain pulse, mind...

I do not like it either as a football kit or fashion item.

I really like it ( ) but as an away shirt, it's a financially motivated choice as it necessitates a 3rd kit, but I can't say I'm overly bothered :?

In fact, I like the home kit as well (not overly keen on the navy strips on the arm, but they're ok)

Just hope to see Van Persie wearing it next season. 8)

Never mind the kit. That's our new super-quality summer signing. "Sure, he has no head, arms or legs but he has the potential to develop into a world-class talent. I wanted to buy him a year ago but his £5 transfer fee was too high and I didn't want to kill the free-kick mannequins who will sign new deals in the next few days."

The thing is that even with all those impediments, our new signing (Manni Quinn?) would still make a better job of shielding our back four than Alex Song does!!

What's the difference between Alex Song and that mannequin?

One is a headless and statuesque figure that has no heart, brain or legs - and the other is the mannequin!! :-P

there's nothing wrong with the design itself, but NOT for The Arsenal...it's All WRONGGGGG! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: ....btw what's that little tag on a bit of string hanging from it?...is it a little note book for reminders for the likes of Song and Djourou not to Zone Out and stay focused :rubchin:
