The showdown v the Baggies

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The last biggest one off, must win match we had like this was last year's CC final. We bottled that, I see absolutely no evidence as to why Sunday will be no different.

In fact I fully expect this forum to go into meltdown at 4.45pm Sunday! 4th by defualt as Newcastle won't beat everton at Goodison. Then it's all down to the Germans.

And a certain someone will declare:

"Overall I believe that the team has shown a remarkable spirit and consistency after a difficult start to the season. We would already be secure in the Champions League for next season, but we find ourselves a little bit under 'special circumstances' this year."

Speaking of "special circumstances" SteveO, imagine the tripe we will have to endure if we finish 4th but don't qualify due to (god forbid) the chavs winning the Champs. League. There will be no mention of imploding with 3rd practically in the bag, just propaganda about how we deserve to be in it for finishing top 4 when chavs only finsihed 6th blah blah blah. :banghead:

Well quite. The first reaction will be the one I mentioned above, but if the no-history wankers do win the bloody thing it will quickly change into a sermon from Lord Wenger about how the rule should be changed, not rewarding the team over 38 games, how 5 clubs were allowed in from England in 2005/06......it will all be UEFA's fault. Heaven forbid that if we had won one of the 3 games against Wigan, Norwich or Stoke in recent weeks we'd be virtually home and dry. Maybe those three games were all played under 'special circumstances' too

The closer Sunday becomes the more visits to the bog I'm having...absolutely crapping meself. This game has so many things riding on it, the biggest one of all being RVP's autograph on a contract. If we win, he'll sign, I believe that, because it might also persuade 1 or 2 other possible signings to become definites and not have to wait around for a CL qualifier should Chelsea not win.
So I reckon this is the biggest game for years (let alone the filth finishing 3rd :banghead: )

Oh yes, the one where Arsene predicted a 'magnificent performance' in the second leg.

Hopefully we'll stay competitive for more than 11 minutes this time round

Would people stop moaning before a ball is bloody kicked? We've not even played and people are already moaning about a result.

2-1 with Arsenal looking shaky but riding out an important victory.

Full support to the boys and let's hope Song learns to defend!

Meh, its only West Brom. We should just leave gibbs on the halfway line, slow-pass it through the midfield and not bother pressing when out of possession as they're only west brom and will give the ball away anyway.
