Abiding memories of this season

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I had to look melancholic up and it means sad.

After this season, sad, never. Arsene has given us 101 things to smile about. :)

For me, the lasting memory of the season is one of NO HOPE.

August robbed us of any hope for the season whatsoever :(

Our midfield dismantled - no Nasri, no Cesc, no Wilshere (and just for Steveo... no, Diaby) :(

The uninspiring replacements signed in haste as the window slammed shut

And, on the pitch, an 8-2 humiliation and a lacklustre defeat at home to Liverpool pretty much ended our season before it began.

We've just incompetently plodded on for 9 months, slowly chasing down Sp*rs (in a race more reminicent of a snail and a slug than Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay  )

And then, just to top it off, we get knocked out of the CL after a ridiculously abject 4-0 hammering in Milan.

And all that on the back of a ticket price increase

There has been the odd high point - wins against Sp*rs, Milan, Chelsea and Liverpool... and, of course, Van Persie! but it's not enough to look back on this season with any fondness... can't wait until it's over!

so many great moments this season. However I have narrowed it down to the following:

BEST MATCH
Chelsea 3:5 Arsenal

BEST MOMENT
Henry scoring v Leeds United

BEST ATMOSPHERE AT EMIRATES
v AC Milan (At half time :D )

BEST COMEBACK
Arsenal 5:2 Spurs

In fairness Mikey, Red did say that there were 'so many great moments' this season........sounds like you're in full agreement too !

That irrelevant 8-2 didn't get mentioned in Red's post :barscarf:

Best moment?

Frimpong's crunching destruction of the Liverpool players. Showed there was some fight amongst the bottle-jobs.

Biggest ovation I have ever seen for a red card (from your own team).

BEST COMEBACK

Arsenal coming back from the dead to win the Top 5 trophy. Amazing.

MOMENT OF THE SEASON

Wenger's anger when a reporter asked him to clarify his comments about how Arsenal wasn't a big club if they sold Cesc and Nasri. Superb!

BEST PERFORMANCE

Alex Song and his wonderful outside of the boot pass to set up Norwich's third.
Oh and RVP v Spuds at home.

COTY

Arsene Wenger, as he has been every year since 2006. Refuses to piss off too...

Yeah that was a real highlight - watching him charge around like a headless chicken, hand the Mickeys the game on a plate and pave the way for our worst start in 58 years. Truly memorable
