Your argument is full of holes mate.
At no point have I mentioned the amount of world class players in current our squad. I'm only talking about our possible moves this summer.
What moves would they be then?

But your Wenger said we were gonna compete with Europes elite. Surely you need world class players to do that eh?

Soon to be 8 years and counting then yet the AKB's are out in force celebrating the 3rd place cup. My fear is nothing will change whilst manager and board feel vindicated in their policy of asset stripping. I see more of the same sadly.

No one is celebrating getting third for fuck sake. People are happy one because we finished above them lot again, and two, because we've got guaranteed CL qualification. Pretty sure everyone realises this squad needs strengthening.

No mate. Getting rid of Wenger is more important than finishing 3rd. With him we are nowhere.

Absolutely - when you have a manager whose ambition is win without buying quality then you can forget about having success anytime soon. Fact is that nowadays teams need quality (and sometimes an abundance of it) to actually win trophies and in recent seasons under wenger we have continued to sell our best players while recruiting sub standard players to take their place  How deeply distressing is it listening to the citeeh lesbo talking about how today proved his point that he needed to leave in order to win trophies ? Fact is that our best players in recent years knew that they wouldnt win again under wenger and jumped ship as fast as they could  Maybe if we had a different manager then the whole approach would change and we would at least try to use our maximum available budget to bring in quality proven players but as long as he remains in charge then we going nowhere fast    :banghead:

Just heard Wenger on Sky looking very smug and saying CL footie is vital "to attract the best players"
So all these years of CL qualification and where are all these "best players"

No. We buy lower league players and pay them silly money. Those who make it quickly realise that they'll win nothing under Wenger and move on......
Those that dont make it sit on their fat contracts, listen to rap music on their big "cans" and drive around in their swanky cars. In fact these players have made it too. :banghead:

Well thank god that the team managed to limp over the line - nothing would have been worse than finishing below that lot, no matter whether or not you think it might have been beneficial in the long term.

However, I agree with the sentiment on here i.e. now that CL football is assured lets see if we really can go and attract "the best players". What possible excuse can the club have this Summer for not strengthening the squad, now that we don't even have to face a play-off game. The club should be out there this week getting m'Vila plus another GK and CB signed up. Do that, let the players go off to the Euros and come back with the whole squad in place and no last minute fucking around. If Van Persie hasn't signed up within a fortnight of returning from the Euro's then the sale needs to be negotiated and we need a good month or so to bring in an additional striker.

If we're fucking about at 2359 hrs on the closing day of the window then frankly there can be no excuse - nor can there be if Podolski represents the only meaningful addition

totally agree Steveo.

you might find my attitude changing now that the season is over.
I always maintained 4th place was the minimum achievement this season. ok we finished 3rd so we have over achieved but we still need to kick on now next season.

Now is the time for Chesney to come out and be arrogant and to say we will win the league. now is the time for RVP to say it too. The fact he said other stuff yesterday was worrying. After last summer there are now no excuses for Wenger and the board. Kroenke is a billionaire, so is Usmanov - start spending some money.

Perhaps if the fucking numpties on our current board allowed him a seat at the boardroom table he'd be encouraged to provide additional capital, but of course we don't want 'his sort'.
