The most disgusting part of City's win

The most disgusting part of City's win

Post by Barriecuda »

How long until people start calling it "more dramatic than 1989" ? :banghead:

I was at Anfield in 1989, we beat the Champions we scored the 2nd goal with 1 minute to go. Old School Fans know the Truth. Sky are bigging it up for rating and future subscriptions etc :blah:

Fairplay to City Dramatic finnish 8)

Nothing will be Anfield 89 'Its Up for Grabs Now' :barscarf:

I'd say it was pretty close but Anfield 89 still tops it....though this was certainly the most dramatic finish in the Premier League/Sky era.

Today was second most dramatic finish I can remember, a classic last day and a wonderful advert for the game.

But 1989 head to head for the title in one game?
Won on goals scored rather than goal difference?
When neither team had bought the title?

We still own the most amazing finish ever.

OK tin helmet on but regrettably I think it has to be viewed as more dramatic by the simple fact that they won the league with 2 goals in injury time whilst another club were already thinking they'd done enough. In our favour was that nobody thought we could do it so, well in terms of drama maybe it's a score draw!!!!

Arsenal beat the reigning champions. We were given no chance before the game. City scraped a win against relegation fodder QPR having spent close to £1bn.

No contest.

Man City's first Premier League title for 44 years according to Sky Sports News :blah:

It's like the English Football League Division 1 Championship never existed for 100 odd years :banghead:

Pol Pot & year zero comes to mind

Fuck off Sky & the PL, bring back the proper English Football League Championship :barscarf:

I feel passionately that ours was more dramatic.
Our underdog status added to the drama.
So did the match being in isolation because of Hillsborough.

Ask Steve McMahon if he thought he had done enough.

We beat the team who were top of the league AWAY from home we were not at home v a team fighting relegation. And we needed to win by TWO clear goals

The only other game that comes close to Anfield 89 was Utd's treble win in Barcelona

Anfield will never be beaten because the top 2 teams were going for it.

City had it in their hands against a team trying not to go down.

It was dramatic but not as impressive.

Of course and for all those reasons ours was better and our task was a million times harder than theirs. All I'm saying is that in the cold light of day, 2 goals in injury time to win the league when really the chance had gone is also difficult to argue against when comparing the most dramatic way for a team to win the league!!
