As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
As it turned out the defeat meant nothing to QPR in the bigger picture..even a 1-0 defeat would have given the Victims the title in '89......There is no comparrison...My daughter passed throough the room last night when Match of the Day was on...She said it wasn't as good as the night Arsenal won it. Then I realised she watched Fever Pitch on Film4 last week.
Its the best finish in the Prem by far but nothing can beat Anfield unless next season we need to go to City and win away 3v0 to beat them to the title and do it lol
Its second to Anfield and most newspapers and pundits have said that this morning. Anfield can never be beaten as it was the top two in the last minute, of the last game of the season. City's was pure drama, but as much as the PL try to erase football pre 1992, Anfield 89 is always remembered.

exactly
how anyone can think that them circumstances and be beaten is beyond me
1952/52 Arsenal claimed the title by just 0.099 of a goal. Both Arsenal and Preston had identical records aside from their goal averages. Had goal difference been the deciding factor as it was from 1977 onwards, Arsenal would still have won with +33 to Preston's +25, unlike in 1989 when they would have finished second on goal average.
1989 - the two top teams in the league were playing each other in a head-to-head after all of the other league games had been completed, owing to the Hillsborough tragedy. The reigning champions were at home and hadn't lost by 2 goals at home for god knows how long. The title was won on goals scored
2012 - Man City beat 17th placed QPR at home to win the league in a game where QPR were 22/1 to win
Yes, 2012 - every bit as dramatic as 1989. My fucking arse

No contest.
