Van Persie saga, officially not extending contract.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You can't blame him if he wants to go and win trophies with another club. Just look at Nasri and Clichy they have won the prem title in no time.

True but recently the trend is actually to do better amongst the well known players

Can't blame him if he goes. The player is genuine quality and the man has a class about him. A proper club captain. Wish we would have seen more from him than one full season if he does go though.

Any optimism for next year, however, depends on him staying, 2-3 quality players arriving and some of the expensive unfulfilled potential leaving. :barscarf:

AW is here until 2014 like it or not. Just hopes he doesn't want to leave the club after putting us through two more years of limbo. Keeping RVP is massive for the squad and how the club is perceived.

The bloke will still be the committed captain of Arsenal at the beginning of next season.
He will not leave this close season.

If the GIC fucks up the summer (yet again), then RVP can leave with my full blessing. Been nothing short of a legend for us this season. Wish him all the best in whatever decision he makes.

Arsene will be disappointed to discover that a Garibaldi is in fact a biscuit containing currents and not our latest 15 year old signing from Piacenza

Hopefully Wenger and Gazidis fig-roll over and give him what he wants.
