How many Chelsea fans wanted us to win the CL in 2006? None

As has been said by other posters no Gooner could cheer for Chelsea.

gunner_ace if the Spuds were playing Bayern would you want them to win because its England v Germany?

Well quite. I mean this "I'm 100% English" argument........funny but I thought it was two club sides playing rather than England vs Germany. How many of the Chelsea players will be English ? Is the manager English? Is the owner English?

its an english club vs a german one hence its england vs germany.

It's funny, finally something that keeps us connected! In Germany they want the rest of the German fans to cheers for Bayern because it is a 'German team' (Ribery, Robben, Olic etc. sounds German :mrgreen: ).

But we don't do :twisted: !

I understand that you can not cheer for Chelski...so you cheer for Bayern and we will do for Chelski...
would be a classic Monty Python :mrgreen:

P.S.: Borussia Dortmund was the first team to win the CL for 'Germany' and where? In Munich :-P and did the Bayern supporters felt happy about that :mrgreen: ?!

That article confirmed my suspicions that Bayern are "doing an Arsenal" at the worst possible time. Wish Madrid had gone through now.

I should clarify my stance. Im not going to be sat there on saturday shouting whoop whoop whoop if chelsea score. I will just be watching a game as a neutral where I would be happy for the English opposition to win against German. Its how ive been brought up and its how its always been with my cirle of friends and at my school all those years ago. I dont care that its chelsea, just that they are an English team 1st and a London one 2nd, and that good on em if they win it, as like I said weve had 14 goes with sweet FA to show for it. It just comes across as very bitter saying that I as a gooner must want chelsea to lose the game on saturday because they are from london and have no history. Stop being a sheep and think for yourselves.

As for Donaldos argument saying no chelski fans wanted us to win in 06. have you got a poll or something you can show me, as I know loads of chelski fans, and manure, and bindippers and they all wanted us to beat Barca that year. The one person who didnt was my spud colleague at work. Obviously.

Doesn't seem like the best reason to me, but, it explains a lot about the differences between English and German society today.

Oh I see....yes, thanks for clarifying that point, I was struggling up until that point. I think that's about the least convincing argument since that episode of the Office when Gareth wanted a crack at the new girl in the office because he saw her first.

It quite clearly isn't England vs Germany is it. Its a bunch of thrown together no-history, mercenary tossers from various parts of the world, playing for a certain badge because the owner has got a pot of money and will pay them more than everyone else except Man City. Excuse me for not getting all 'patriotic' when Drogba is rolling around in agony

I have just thought of a reason to support Chelsea

it will help to ensure that english clubs continue to get 4 clubs in the Champions League, therefore increasing the likelihood of Arsenal continuing to qualify for it :D

but I still want Bayern to win :wink:
