The Banner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I donated to a banner that I've never actually been able to get hold of (not for the want for trying). I didn't take photos of it and put them on the net. I donated money to it in good faith in order to show it at a game. When asked to do something to explain it's reasons, I went on TalkSport and explained the reasons for it. I didn't shirk any responsibilities. So you can effing do one.

RedAction meanwhile have got the clout of a poodle. You were set up to improve the atmosphere. What you did instead was back the current board once they'd cleverly brought you "inside". That Banner slagging off Usmanov was the nail in your coffin. You can never be taken seriously after that. You were influenced by the Club to back the board as they made you feel special. Now you can never criticise them, because your cards are on the table. And the cards you have shown amount to little more than a pair of 7s...... 7 years without a trophy, and £7m million per year for Arsene.

Get back in the kitchen. Or is it too hot in there?
Were the Red Action boys also responsible for the 'Real Fans Have Patience' banner and march? Or was that another group
Yeah they were
That's all I need to know about them then. I take it next Summer will see that banner make another appearance when Wenger's contract only has 1 year left to run and the panic sets in that no other manager in world football could secure us the 3rd and 4th placed trophies, and a last 16 spot in the CL.

I hope they do go on another Wenger love in march just so that we can post the pictures all over the website to get everyone in a really happy mood

It's certinaly sad state of affairs at AFC, board is in cahoots with Red Action and it was clear for everyone to see after "Hate Usmanov" fiasco, just how pathetic RA really is. Atmosphere at the ground is actually heavily controlled by club and those banners are just small part of it. Revealing banner that actualy dares to criticise Wenger/board is seen almost as blasphemy. So I do understand why no one dared doing it yet.

One way to go around it is perhaps to be more cynicall with message banners send. Why would anyone ban the banner that says something like: 67 POINTS...WILL IT BE ENOUGH THIS SEASON? :box:

In fairness, back in 2007 when the banner was displayed, we were still relatively fresh from the invincibles (2004), winning the FA Cup (2005), playing in our first ever champions league final (2006), and moving into our new home (2006) so I'd say the majority of Arsenal fans didn't want Usmanov taking over the club back then.

Obviously, things have gone steadily down hill from there, and for many, Kroenke/Wenger have fallen out of favour, but using that as a stick to beat RedAction with is very harsh.

They backed the Board. They showed that they were lacking independence in one fell swoop. The Club brought them on board and immediately dis-credited them. Bunch of jokers.

Red Action like AISA love to be loved by the club .
Gazidis is as good a minister for disinformation as I've ever seen and runs rings around them Bless their cotton socks.
That isn't surprising as watching the Red action pre match march from the rocket reminds me very much of a Variety Club excursion day trip to Margate .

IF and this is a big if at this stage there is a repeat of the shambles last summer there should be a massive protest with marches and banners at the first home game of the season.

but at the moment RVP is still here, Podolski has signed so it is so far so good. :D

Another thread highlighting the 'all talk and no action' nature of so many Arsenal fans, which has been expertly transferred into another REDaction bashing love in from the clique. Everyone talks a good game on the internet, but to actually get out there and get something done seems way above what so many can achieve.

Mistakes were made back in 2008 and 2009, I have admitted that before, but for so many others to use that as a smokescreen to cover their own inadequacies is fooling no one. Just let it go, things were very different back then.

I stand by the Pro-Wenger march though, as 400 people turned up to show their support. There is no suggestion that will be done again as this is a very different time we live in, so don't waste your time suggesting it will.

In summary, there was no banner, so essentially this is just a 'Wenger : Stay or Go?' thread. Yawn.

In defence of REDaction they have redeemed themselves in my book.

Can’t say too much but 2 banners shown at recent games was so not so “REDaction like”

Also somebody in RA has really come up trumps for us, and in relation have REALLY helped generate a better atmosphere at the grove.

FUCK IT!...Let's just get the Banner Out BEFORE the season even begins...outside the e******s -with a megaphone to hand - Shouting

"SPEND SOME OF OUR FUCKING MONEY!"

Then at the pre-season warm ups......that should have some impact.

I'm just suggesting that we have now found our niche and concentrate on other things, rather than being anti / pro anyting ; Manager, Board, Investors all that stuff, we can just focus on things inside the stadium during home games, with just a few exceptions.
