No Michael Carrick?

What is it with that guy? how can you be a regular in the United team for so many years and not even make the England squad?!

He's not even a reserve... that's gone to Henderson :?

I was talking to some United fans on the train down from Sunderland on the weekend, and they seem to think Carrick has been one of their better players this season.

Fergie obviously rates him, but no England manager ever seems to. Just find it strange, that's all.

No Carrick?? Midfielder for team that cam 2nd in league oh well.
I dont think Ox is ready. Not from what I have seen.

Carroll is a joke, but he has been scoring lately. I can't imagine him in a future england team for brazil 2014, so I wouldn't take him.

Ruddy? I'd have taken Ben Foster of this guy for sure.

Stuart Downing?? Why? Fear of offending the scousers maybe?

Milner is there good, I'd have taken Richards too.

Chamberlain will be there as a wildcard, I guess. We know what he can do, so could be worth a gamble.

Jones is probably in for his versatility.

Defoe... well, he's a fox in the box type striker, and as Bent is injured, I suppose we're a bit thin on the ground in that position. That Norwich striker is probably a bit unlucky to miss out; as is Sturridge.

I'd have taken the freak Crouch rather then Carroll. International teams don't know how to deal with him plus he has a very good international record.

I like the squad. Carroll will rip it up out there.

Good luck to the Ox. I don't think he'll see a lot of match action out there but hopefully will help his development

The problem with a player like Carroll is that foreign referees will always penalise him, as they did with Crouch. Deserves it based on recent form but think he will end up cutting a frustrated figure out there

Who would you remove in place of Carrick though. Of the 4 central midfielders there is not one that you could say Carrick is better than, Gerrard and Lampard arent as good as they were but they have the experience in the big tournaments. For me Downing is an awful choice cant see how he can be in the squad.

Fact is England dont have many outstanding players anymore, you take out Rooney and your struggling to find a player to start upfront who can win you games. Same in midfield, there is no dominating player in the prime of their careers as in previous tornaments.
