As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
In light of all of yesterdays events I am immediately reminded of new labour "a good day to bury bad news" memo that went out on the 12/09/2001 or 09/12/2001 if you're American.
Which is why Wenger's utterances about Jack, Diaby and other injured players being 'like new signings' pisses me off so much!! What guarantees have we got that they'll play any more games next season than they did this one or the one before - certainly in the case of Abou? And if our experiences with Rosicky and TV are anything to go by, who can tell when we'll get Jack back and playing regularly again? We have to go out and get new players - just have to!!
The problem is that the lad needs a rigourous pre-season to be ready for next season. We all know that when you've been out as long as he has - as with RvP, Eduardo, TV5, Diaby - when they start playing matches again, they invariably pick up more muscle strains and "two, maybe three week" injuries. I'd hoped he be having that during pre-season rather than when the season starts but it seems like his pre-season will be heavily disrupted
Really feel for the lad because nobody worked harder than him last season.
What amazes me is that he seems to have all these 'known problems', but the club were happy to let him rack up 50 odd games last year
It makes me wonder how Wilshere himself must be feeling abouot all this, a footballer's career is short as it is, but it'll be well over a year since he kicked a ball, and as has been seen with other players THAT long out of the game can seriously undermine the potential they have/had....I just hope this is the last thing, because someone somewhere has fucked up.....our medical team has a bad rep as it is (among Gooners), and since Lewin went to England it has gotten worse!

Yes, too true, it was utter crap when Gary Lewin was there also, they should bring back Fred Street (as he is now) he would do a better job than these current shower of overpaid wankers.
1. Arsene must cease telling us about impending returns of Wilshere and Diaby. We all know they have serious issues and are not going to play much if any football . Do the job required and buildthe squad.
2. Just because our injuries are described as 'average' does not mean our team and facilities are adequete. IMPROVE IT. Whatever level its at MAKE IT BETTER. From personal experience I can tell you not all physios are of the same standard. Something is badly wrong at our set up. Cut the sentiments, and get the right people for the job.
I'm very Sorry for Jack Wilshere, at his age it must be tough to take.
