As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

is it in Kroenke's best interests to sell RVP?
We would make another fantastic profit, Podolski can come in and with Jack back we should be competing for the all important top 4 again. So will there be pressure on Wenger from Kroenke not to sell RVP? Possibly not.
and that is why I think the board is the biggest problem at Arsenal not the manager.
DON'T BE SOOO NIAVE! WILL YOU!
we'll be lucky to see Jack Wilshere this side of next crimbo!......
Like SteveO I get the feeling Van Persie is going to leave this summer.
Hope I am wrong.
Some say he will sign a new contract but just stay one more year, a bit like the Cesc situation.
But I think Van Persie will remember how frustrated Cesc seemed that season and not want to be in the same position.
Well, here we go again. Last year they did same thing to Fabregas
It could be true. But goal is a terrible website worse then John cross. How can any club stop players to talk to press during on international duty. What if he is a captain.

Arsenal Insider blog makes a case for RvP leaving.
"Van Persie’s words, when interviewed after the West Bromwich game, were understandably non-committal, although they certainly hinted that he might be on his way. However, his actions after the last home match of the season, versus Norwich, seems to leave less doubt.
The match, and the lap of appreciation, were all done and dusted by 3 p.m., but van Persie stayed at the ground until 6 p.m., during which time he had photos taken of him all over the place with different things, such as the statues outside, and with all the people he knew at the ground. The conclusion would be that he did not anticipate being around to get the opportunity again.
Interestingly though, for the away game at West Brom, as with every other away game, the club had directorial invites from their hosts, but as has been a regularity in recent seasons, nobody from Arsenal wanted to go… apart from Ivan Gazidis. But Gazidis did not watch the game alone, as he was accompanied by van Persie’s wife. You can draw your own conclusion as to why she was at the game, although after the Arsenal captain’s post-Norwich marathon photo session, the idea that she wanted to be present at her husband’s final match for the club he had served for eight years seems highly plausible."

It is not that easy after whatever they have been doing all along. RVP is making this similar kinda of noise for few seasons i.e., signing quality players, winning trophies. About time we start investing in squad.

Words wont convince rvp to stay and nor should they - any player with a semblence of intelligence should be telling wenger and the board to buy quality players to play alongside them and then and only then should he discuss a new deal with the club. Most fans who expect rvp to leave believe he will go cos the club will refuse to bring in quality players and not cos he is demanding mega money - what does it say about the level of confidence we feel in the people running the club that we all believe that they would rather lose our captain and last remaining world class player than invest properly in the team ? Shower of c**ts can all go to hell as far as I am concerned
I reckon that he has told them that he wants out regardless of who they sign during the summer, I also believe that the club have agreed to this on the condition that he says nothing until after the membership renewal deadline has passed. Conveniently the Euro's can be used as an excuse for the delay in notifying us of the outcome. Still I am sure we will make at least £12 from his sale, should be more but this is Arsenal remember Best wishes Robin, you have served us well
This thread is becoming a fucking joke. If I was a fan of a genuinely big club I'd be laughing my arse off at a little selling club and its supporters clinging to the hope that its one star player would stay forever and see out their career as an also ran.
He's leaving, and no amount of weasel words from slimeball Ivan and Self Harmer Wenger are going to make him change his mind.
So our hope next season is that Podolski manages to score 37 goals, that the Camel improves on his one goal per year ratio and that SQP completes his 12 month "adaption period"
What a joke - Arsenal FC, the West Ham United of Europe, clutching to fading memories of a team that once played great football, a fabled youth academy and a feeder club to anyone who fanices pinching one of its best players
