Michael Owen

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He retired from football the day he joined Man Utd.He knew he would hardly get a start with their strikers. So he picked up easy money for not doing much.Bit like a lot of our squad players. He would fit in well at Wengers retirement home

i'd snap him up, on Free, as long as it's a pay as you play deal -

top striker on his day and he's experience up front would be vital - i'd be happy to get 20 games out of him

Wouldn't normally credit Irish Channel TV3 with wit or imagination but their sports report on Owen today began with " A place has been cleared in the Man Utd treatment room" :D

Probably missing the point but........this is Arsenal. 4th richest club,60k seats blah blah blah. We need a 32 year old semi retired injury prone reserve? If this is what we are and where we've gone what the :censored: is the point. Pass me the shot gun

Mrs Chippy is a bit of a pundit and she reckons the reason he didn't fulfil his potential was because he didn't have a name you can turn into something ending in a y (or ie) or even an O, like Stevie, Rooney, Thierry, Oxo etc.

I think she's on to something there! :D

Worth a *word censored*.
So that means we can swap bendy bollox for him then! :D
