As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

pre Kroenke EVERYONE was ante Usmanov but now it seems quite split in who wants what.
Usmanov is the Summer signing we most need - we will NEVER beat them with our model so lets join them and get behind Usmanov to take us back up another notch and have a chance of real silverware.
The world has changed, technology has changed and football has certainly changed and as i said originally i believe he will try his damndest to make a move to buy out the Yanker so lets see what unfolds
1989-he has always owned 10% of Facebook , said that in first posting- he might be ugly but he is no mug
Beg to differ mate - there was a few of us on here that were not anti usmanov at all but I am even more convinced now than I was then that he is the much better option than the yank
yeah, if you read back threads you will find quiet a few on here didnt want stan and were fully supportive of usmanov as we felt the club would have able to compete with him and not the wig wearing plank we have as an owner now.
Facebook was floated today on the US stock exchange.
Valued at $104 billion.
Usmanov reportedly bought a 10% stake in 2009, at a cost of $900 million.
So, what to do with the $9 billion profit?
rigsby wrote:Yup, he earnt 5 billion in about a minute today. Its time that he got a spot on the fucking board.
Worth over £18 billion and yet he can't put a £1 into the kitty. FFS. Sort it out Arsenal
But has he offered to?
He proposed a share issue but has he offered a loan, or a donation?
He hasn't but I believe he would. PHW and Kroenke don't want him on board because they'd rather stick to this self sustainability model rather than Usmanov's benefactor model.
rigsby wrote:The board wont let him even if he did offer. Remember when Kroenke offered a few years ago? They turned it down.
Plus his position gets more pwoerful the worse we do. I have no doubt he will start posturing very soon to get the fans on his side
Did they not want his type (Kroenke) at arsenal?
I still reckon that Usmanov will end up owning Arsenal, but not before 2014.
I can see him making mischief in the meantime though.
He's still not my choice as an owner but, then again, Kroenke is a bloody disgrace.
Hopefully Usmanov will cross the 30% threshold by buying up what little float of shares there is amonst the minorities and launch a mandatory bid
Having said that the Plus market that Arsenal are listed on is folding up, so unless the club applies for an AIM or LSE listing the 30% threshold might be meaningless anyway
I have to admit that I was anti Usmanov at the begnning, I guess I got hoodwinked by the propaganda started by the club through RedAction Fucking hell I even shouted a few choice words at David Dein when I bumped into him outside the stadium Well I would like to say sorry for doubting your intentions DD and would give happily give one of DB10Gooners kidneys if I thought it would get us out of this sorry U.S state of affairs.

Sorry but they are not HUGE signings, the bloke that lives next door to me can hardly get his lardy arse out of the chair in his living room for a shit, now he is HUGE, 40 stone +, has a nurse to muck him out twice a day, So I am not sure we want this kind of signing.
I am still undecided even about usmanov ... seriously what do we know about him apart from being mega rich.
To be fair the same can be said about the other two sugar dads that landed at chelsea and citeh using the same argument I.e. what did the fans know about them before they arrived; but the citeh owners were already publicly known (rulers of Abu Dhabi) and the chelski Russian is an MP with European business connections.
Usmanov is an oligarch from a relatively uncharted central Asian country, that has still a big question mark over its transparency on so many levels.
My current take on the uzbek is that he has now been in the public gooner frame for a few years now and is yet to make a statement or conjure any effort to introduce himself, all we heard was a part-story in a tabloid newspaper about his alleged share scheme to raise funds.
If he is out there and would like sceptics like myself to buy into his propaganda and plans for arsenal, it wouldn't harm if he made more of an effort for us to know more about the man and his intentions or moral pedigree ..
Am I making sense about why I am cautious about him ?

Its a bit like sex with a stranger, you know the risks but provided she doesn't see your face you should be okay
