I know mate...I know...that's what so annoying and frustrating 'we' can all see it, but AW can't....StuartL wrote:OneBardGooner wrote:That is an EXCELLENT analysis and description of our 'Situation', can we get him a job on the Arsenal Staff!? Well spotted Frank
This so hits the nail on the proverbial head:
"The problem is that we carry over 70 pro players, (this is about 20 more than most other clubs), we pay our top stars less than they could get at other top clubs, and we pay middle rank player and younger players more than they could get elsewhere. So its simple really, make harsher decisions on who will make it or who are needed, sell those that are not required, even at a loss, spread the wages saved on those that deserve the big pay packet more."
Everyone is well aware that a lot of the youngsters will not make the cut to get in the first team, but are probably good enough to earn a decent living in the lower half of the prem or the Championship - but why do we persist on sending them out on loan for more than a season ? (obviously, as nobody will buy them and pay the wages they are on)
If they were good enough they would get games in the Cups and sporadically in the league matches.
If they are not then get rid, what is the point of loaning Vela / Watt / Lansbury / season in season out ?
Some players have been here for years already and will never be good enough to be a first team player, so sell them and get them off the wage bill.
3 players who are on, lets say £20,000 per week, (and most fringe players are on more than that) who contribute nothing to our squad could be replaced by a quality addition on the £60,000 who would.
Its not quantity, its having the right quality.

Lucio yes please. Still nothing matters until we're linked with a new manager...

Not a rumour, but if we were looking for a "big" signing to shore things up at the back does anyone here think Hummels or Subotic from Dortmund would do a job for us?
I've watched some German football this season and from what Ive seen of them they have been impressive.

Sounds like Hazard has signed for Utd for £40m. Crazy thing is Wenger could of signed him 2 years ago for £12m and said it was 2much

Lucio? WTF. We already have enough defenders who are more likely to score rather than keep them out without acquiring another. It's bad enough I have to watch Santos without that clown too.

Yep that's the news doing the rounds in France.mcdowell42 wrote:Sounds like Hazard has signed for Utd for £40m. Crazy thing is Wenger could of signed him 2 years ago for £12m and said it was 2much

Amazing eh? Manure, despite all their injuries to key players (think Vidic, think Valencia, think Nani) are on the verge of spending £40 mil on a top player to compete it seems.
This is despite having Yank owners nowhere near as rich as Kroenke: it's cos the Manure fans would not stand idly by and tolerate mediocrity!
Manure got 89 points this season despite their injuries: that's just 1 point - a single point - less than the Invincibles managed. Yet immediately, the focus is on strengthening.
David Dein, a real football man, is on the verge of joining Liverpool to advise on transfers and strategy. If Arsene Wenger FC needed any more indication of what an absolute shambolic joke we've become, Dein going to the Scousers would be the cherry on top!
So Manure strengthening massively.
Chelski to build on their status of European champions

Citeh well...say no more
Liverpool will get a proper manager.
I'll ask again: where the fuck are Arsenal going and what is the point of the club in its present format?
"qualifying for the Champions League"?
"Top 4"?
"Finishing ahead of Spuds"?
It's just sad.

I mentioned Dein to Liverpool last week. It's true. Ask Alex Fynn.Babatunde wrote:Yep that's the news doing the rounds in France.mcdowell42 wrote:Sounds like Hazard has signed for Utd for £40m. Crazy thing is Wenger could of signed him 2 years ago for £12m and said it was 2much

Wenger is currently preparing an offer of 30,000 pesetas per week, a Rustlers Burger and a curly wurly. The Club have offered Charlie George in direct exchange for the player. Ivan remains by the phone waiting for postive news #inwengerwetrust.mcdowell42 wrote:Hazard "I don't know where I'll be next season. Nothing's done yet." Added Chelsea interest changes things
