CL Final - Bayern or Chavs?
Re: Long Term is it better Chelsea won?
On the Spurs thing you're 100 % correct. No doubt there big players will look to fuck off now.Modric,Bale, and VDV will all look to move on. Attracting players will be difficult. Certainly they're weakened.
As for Chelsea, as I said, its something that has been thratening to happen for a long time. Not nice to see, but it will only be like that if we NEVER win it.

Re: CL Final - Bayern or Chavs?
I just don't understand how they don't want to be the history makers themselves. He should want to be part of the first London team to win the European Cup - not want it for someone else. I still think it shows a complete lack of judgement in terms of empathising with how we all feel this morning. Of course you are right, it is a job for them and nothing more - very few of them are Arsenal supporters. It does not change the fact that he is officially off my Christmas card list along with about 93% of the rest of them – which I am sure he will be utterly devastated by.flash gunner wrote:Dont get me wrong id prefer Wilshere said nothing about chelsea and Terry winning the European Cup but players dont have the same feelings we do and never have. After we beat sp*rs in the 1993 FA Cup semi final Neil Ruddock was interviewed after the final whistle and said the usual about how gutted he was etc etc but finished it with 'but they are a good bunch of lads and i wish them luck' from a sp*rs player!!!!! . . . See nothing to do with modern day footballers who dont know how we feel and all that bollocks im sure Ruddock used to go for a drink with Merson or Adams and knew them as blokes as opposed to a hated rival.ThomasMitchell wrote:This just about sums it up. But what can we really expect when we have Arsenal players stating that they wanted them to win – and then going one better by saying that Terry deserved it. How can any Arsenal player be happy that that lot have made history before us? How can Wilshere not get how the Arsenal fans would feel about this? But unfortunately such statements sum up the modern day Arsenal player. It shows yet again what a load of flakes this current crop are and how out of touch they are with the fans and the history of the Club. Don't bother kissing the badge again Wilshere - just be happy you’re England mates are achieving things that you and your fellow team mates can only dream of. And anyway 3rd place is the real trophy.arseofacrow wrote:In the cold light of day you have to take your hat off to Chelsea for their organsiation, resilience and character. Three things which are rarely found in our current Arsenal squad. The lack of such things is particulary noticable in the games where they are most required.
Im sure this is how Wilshere knows Terry even if we all hate him and im not sure Wilshere deserves stick off of us lot because of it

Merged your thread into this one Red. No need for more threads on the chavs win is there?Red Member wrote:now that it has happened, that Chelsea have won I am as disappointed as most other people on here.
however in the long term it might be for the best.
1) Spurs could now disintegrate with their best players leaving - they ARE still our main rivals after all - that is funny![]()
2) Whether Chelsea won or not they would always been able to bounce back with the amount of money they have available to them. It will be harder for Spurs now they are not in the CL.
3) the fact is Chelsea are not Spurs. Imagine if Spurs won the CL!!!![]()
The fact that Chelsea is also in London is disappointing but not as bad as them winning it.
4) Chelsea now have a "history" of about the same level as Aston Villa and they need reminding that next season they might be able to emulate Nottingham Forest![]()
5) the final reason is the great hope that maybe this will motivate our players to actually win something, impress on the manager and the board that they need to invest more in the squad to win something.

I can't believe you actually asked that question - are we all even that upset?rigsby wrote:I don't see why people are so het up about this.
Sure I didn't want them to win but they did. That doesn't suddenly mean they're a bigger club than us. Are Aston Villa? Notts Forest? Porto? No. Winning the European Cup doesn't suddenly jump you to the top of the que. Takes a lot more than that.
Are we all even that upset? Chelsea have spent millions trying to win this thing. It was always going to happen. Just get behind the Arsenal and hope we can achieve that feeling one day.
Yes, I'm fucking furious and that result on Saturday night is up there amongst the lowest moments I've suffered as an Arsenal fan. Why? Because a club that were no more than another fucking West Ham in the 80s i.e. a two bob, second tier London club, yo-yo'ing between the old Division 1 and Division 2, have come along and become the first London club to win the Champions League
Abramovich turned up in 2003, we'd already been in 5 CL's before that happened. In 2004 we had a fantastic opportunity but bottled it against Chelsea.
Chelsea winning the CL was always going to happen was it? Well, their so called best ever manager had 3 shots at it long before City's money came into play and couldn't do it. They then spent years appointing a different man every year spending tens of millions and still not doing it, during which time Barcelona produced possibly the best ever team to walk the planet and City then came along with unlimited riches taking another of the CL places on offer in the PL. Then, in the one season when it looked like they wouldn't even qualify - the fans (who've never worked in football for a day so what do they know?) and the owner were in full agreement that despite spending €13m on their new manager he was presiding over a disaster, so had the fucking balls to fire him when the rest of us were all mocking. Then they walked off with the one trophy we will NEVER EVER win as long as the gormless, clueless, master tactician that is Lord Wenger is allowed to continue with his endless youth project that sees the few world class players we develop piss off at the drop of a hat
That's why I'm fucking het up and why I am 'that upset', seeing as you asked

no point getting that worked up about them though Steveo. Rigsby if right to an extent.
I would like to see your reaction if Spurs ever won it

I'd like to see the reaction of so called 'true fans' on here too if Spurs won it. I think it would be along the lines of "well, it was always going to happen one day and its good for English football so well done to them"Red Member wrote:no point getting that worked up about them though Steveo. Well at least in the eyes of 18% of Gooners anyway

Re: CL Final - Bayern or Chavs?
the thing is when Liverpool win the CL it must be horrible for Everton fans
when Man United win it must be horrible for Man City fans
for us if Spurs win it would be the worst nightmare possible. Chelsea winning isn't that scenario. It is bad but manageable.Chelsea are not our traditional rivals - imagine how Fulham supporters feel about them winning!

I'm absolutely shocked that there are gooners out there that were cheering them on and don't get the significance of Chelsea beating us to the CL.

I makes you right Steve O - it is easy to dismiss the chavs win as a victory for money but the reality is that they won with an ageing average team but with a tactical plan that worked to perfection. Yes they got lucky on occasions, as they did with barca games, but they set themselves up to keep things tight and maybe nick a goal and that is how it panned out which isnt too bad when you consider that they were missing two of their first choice back 4 and their two centre halves were struggling with hamstring injuries throughout the game.
Man for man I think our team could take that chav team but even if I was a millionaire I wouldnt put even a quid on our team beating barca over two legs or defeating bayern in their own back yard. Watching them do the one thing that many Gooners covet above all else (personally the prem lge will always be number 1) and seeing how they did it merely highlights all reasons why we will never do it under wenger and this regime

Re: CL Final - Bayern or Chavs?
it is only significant if we dont learn from their win and dont aim at winning it ourselves.
qualification for the CL was acceptable last season - that is no longer the case. We have to know that we are really going for the win from now on. In theory it should motivate the team, the supporters, the manager and the board to become winners again. Whether that is realisic remains to be seen.
the main thing is that we become the first team in North London to win the CL

Why should this year be the one that motivates everyone? As pro Wenger people like to point out we have been qualifying for 15 years, why is now the summer that motivates us?Red Member wrote:it is only significant if we dont learn from their win and dont aim at winning it ourselves.

The scum fans down the lane have publicly turned on piennar and saha after they publicly congratulated the chavs on twitters -

I especially like the quote from one fan about who pays their wages -
'We pay your wages and you say well done Chelski!?!
This is the very same point many of us have made re wilshire's pro chav comments and he would do well to be more aware of the anger his remarks create and it is something I would love to tell him if I met him on the street
