With a multi-billionaire like Usmanov in charge then you can talk of bringing a Guardiola or Mourinho to the club

But nothing will ever change while Kroenke runs the club.At any other "big" club in Europe which had gone 7 years without a trophy the manager would have been sacked.Wenger should be judged on football matters not the balance sheet

It struck me the other day that this Summer's events have been coming since 5 years ago. Each Summer we fight to keep our players. The reason for this is that we didn't get our Player contracts sorted last season. Last season we lost Cesc and Nasri and wasted all our time on keeping them. During that close season we failed to sign up RVP and Theo. The season before that we effectively did the same thing with Ade and Toure, which lead to Nasri running his contract down. In previous seasons Hleb and Flamini did the same. If we cock up this Summer, Song and a few others will be within a year of their contract next Summer. The problem we have is that we are in a stand-off. Players won't sign unless they can see our ambition. So just approaching Song and Theo to sign new deals won't happen unless they know about RVP. RVP won't sign unless he knows about new players. New players won't sign if they think RVP is off. This circle needs to be broken.

So how do we break a vicious circle?

Bottle of whisky, revolver, bullet, revolver in mouth, think of Wenger, pull the trigger.
