How are we still ranked so highly up the list when we have only been in one semi-final in the past five years? I really cannot figure out how on earth they work this points system out?? So effectively as long as we make the knock out stages each year we will always be in Pot A.

A few years ago we were going to get knocked down to pot 2 if we didn't make the semi, but got into the final.

We've made the QF's and last 16, a lot more than some teams so that's probably why.

The club coefficient rankings are based on the results of clubs competing in the five previous seasons of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. The rankings determine the seeding of each club in all UEFA competition draws.

UEFA Champions League points system
First qualifying round elimination – 0.5 points
Second qualifying round elimination – 1 point
Group stage participation – 4 points
Group stage win – 2 points
Group stage draw – 1 point
Round of 16 participation – 4 points

Since 2009/10 clubs have been awarded an additional point if they reach the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals or final.

NB Points are not awarded for elimination in the third qualifying round or play-offs, since those clubs move to the UEFA Europa League and are awarded points for participation in that competition.

Is there a team that should be ranked higher? Inter had one great season but that's about it and we don't have to talk about Atletico Madrid imo.
Arsenal is never great but always decent and that's more than most clubs can offer.

Let's finally win this fucking thing next season please. It's embarrassing how even the chavs have won it and we still haven't. Every big European Club has won it at least once. The chavs winning it last weekend made me very jealous, and more eager than ever to see us win it.

Sadly we have no chance in hell. I dont dispute that you dont have to be a good team to win it ( Chavs this year ) Just a bloody good defence. If you look at the last few games we played in the prem with Verm and Kos at the back ????? enough said.

Yeah to be honest I don't think our players would be able to handle the pressure of a CL final even if we did get there.
