Kalou rejected Arsenal transfer in January 2014

You've inadvertently started me off with a list of things to do with a Chamakh

No.1 - use his head for banging nails into a wall

Mind you, he'd probably miss the fucking nail

Baba , is totally spot on with what he says. I tell you what Gallas and £5 mill for Cole !!!!!!!!!!! i had forgotten about that.

It was always said that the players who left went downhill but take your pic from the following , who would be in the team or would have strengthened the squad

Cole
Clichy (both better than the current left backs , and both stay fit)
Kolo Toure (better than our 3rd/4th choices)
Nasri
Fabregas
Ady

good point that none of the best teams sell their best players to rivals , ffs if RVP has to go sell him abroad

I think Gallas is quality, looked a good signing for us
surprised to hear rumours of Sperz letting him go

don't understand people getting irate about possible transfers
didn't we have this thread a year ago
and a similar one about Bridge...
if you want get moody if he signs (I hope he doesn't)
even then I give new players a blank sheet - will judge them purely on what they do for us

and as has been pointed out he actually contributed to Chelski's trophies
unlike 'world cup winner' Mata or 'world cup winner' Martinez

Who needs Van Persie when we've got Kalou

Chim-chim-en-ee

We only signed him because he was free

You heard it here first: KALOU - better than Mata. LOL
So I suppose Chelski will happily let us have Mata on loan, a la Benayoun then yes?

And perhaps Bilbao will release Martinez on a free? As Chavs did with Kalou?

Yeah. I can see it too. I remember heading similar things about how Silvestre "contributed" (and he did) to Manure PL titles and cups. Hahahahahahahaha

Epic straw clutching delusion!

The stand out point for me in what baba has said is that nowadays we seem to be buying too many "squad players" and not focusing enough on the first 11

We have been down this road before in that we signed sol on a freebie and paid him massive massive money but the difference is that we were buying a top quality player there and that wont be the case with kalou. I totally understand the concept where a club doesnt pay a transfer fee to another club for a bosman signing so instead they end up paying the player a huge signing on fee and bumper wages and I get the defence that the "buying club" is actually no worse off financially but really there is no way in gods green earth that anybody could justify paying kalou 80k per week. Sign him as a squad player by all means but pay him a squad players wage and sell some of the existing squad players to make room for him cos otherwise you are simply tying up more money in wages that should be used to bring quality into the club

Btw gunnersauras, djimi traore also won a champs league medal for the victims but that still didnt make him a good player though did it ?

Agree - we tried this theory out with Chamakh - refused to pay Bordeaux a fee during the final year of his contract, ended up landing him on a free, paid him 60k odd per week and now look. There can be no comparison between Campbell on a free and Kalou - FFS, Barcelona were the main interested party when we signed Sol, he was a regular for England and had his pick of clubs. I didn't see Barcelona or Real Madrid falling over themselves to sign Chamakh, nor can I see it with Kalou somehow

HashKads wrote:It's true. I don't understand why supporters don't get on Wengers back about this. Like you say if Silvestre or Benayoun were that good, would our rivals really let them come to us?

Maybe they are decent, but they no longer see us as a threat.
Didn't the shareholders have a go at him for telling him the truth about Silvestre calling him a ''geriatric'' (quite tame imo) but it still pissed Wenger off and he also gave the useless *word censored* (who was over 30 at the time) a 2 year contract... Silvestre who was also useless in his prime... Arsene knows though...
