anfield 89 anniversary

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Remember being allowed to stay up and watch it then being kept up by hearing all the celebrations from drunk gooners heading home on a great day.

Was there in row 2 of the seats in the corner by the standing section. If anyone has the whole match tape still just prior to halftime I can see myself with my St George Flag aloft.

Still have all the newspapers up the loft and the match ticket and programme signed by all the players (which I got done during the summer thanks to someone who knew Perry Groves)

Easily the greatest football night / day of my life

i wasnt there , i was in a pub having my 21st ,arsenal scarf on with only my uncle and dad shouting for the arsenal but it was by far the greatest arsenal night ever :barscarf:

Still the greatest moment ever. Goosebumps just thinking about it.

This year's end to the PL was really exciting but the Slysports bollocks about the greatest end to a season ever was fucking ludicrous. All Citeh had to do was match Manure's result, wasn't it? And they were at home. Against relegation fodder.

We had to go to the home of our main rival for the league, a fortress at the time, against the only other team that could win it, beat them by two clear goals - and we did it. Nothing comes close to that. 8)

Delorean Dor - You obviously weren't there or are a scouser on our board. How is it, that just because the goal came in injury time that it is the luckiest win?
The team had a lot of bollocks in those days and a manager who knew tactics inside out and the team played it out exactly as told. i was certainly lucky enough to be there that night and it goes down as the best night in all of my 30 years supporting the Arsenal, never to be beaten in my book.
