As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What was it that inspired that feeling in you ? Was it the crucial win at the baggies when we stole a win due to their shite keeper or was it the previous week where we got a draw against the might norwich ? Maybe it was before that when we were having a shocking run and the highlight was a home defeat against wigan
We were steeped to finish top 4 much less top 3. We are in line to lose our last remaining world class player which has been happening for the past 3 summers now. We have shown no inclination to change our transfer strategy which has crippled us for the past few seasons. We see no sign of changing our manager or the board and both of these are killing us.
Not a lot to be positive about wouldnt you say ?
You mean to tell me there wasn't a slight twinge of happiness finishing above spuds and chavs? Getting the bronze medal position that guaranteed us CL football regardless of the outcome in Munich. About time we benefitted from an opposing shite keeper, the opposing keeper is normally MOTM against us and God (sorry DB10) knows how many points almunia and flappy cost us over the years. On top of that, Podolski signing it all seemed positive. Then munich.
Next week we'll get to the end of year accounts and we'll be glorified for making a profit,(Cesc n Nasri sales), self sustaining model, Arsenalisation of ashburton etc... What better way to Arsenalise the stadium then by winning the League??

ooh there's a good idea - pop it on a postcard to Ivan the Terrible.

I'll stop you there.
This is Augie we're talking about. I think we can safely say there was no twinge of hapiness
On a more serious level I can honestly say that when we beat west brom I felt only relief and not happiness - I felt sad that a team of our stature should depend on fulop's generousity and the scum's inability to take advantage of our numerous slip ups to secure that 3rd spot but I suppose at the end of the day we got that 3rd spot.
If I am honest I actually felt happiness and optimism middway through the season when the fans were publicly turning on the manager and some players - for me getting that 3rd spot only ensures more of the same next season but when I thought that supporter unrest could well trigger that much needed change at the top then it gave me hope that we wouldnt be throwing away the 2012/2013 season as we had done the previous 3 or 4 seasons. Sadly that dream has failed to materialise so no light at the end of the tunnel for me
There is always a knee-jerk reaction from many supporters after any result - after a defeat everyone is pissed off and after a win everyone is generally happy. Once the dust settles, a sense of perspective comes into play.
Yes I too was happy after securing 3rd place and probably more happy that we had finished above Sp*rs, especially after they had spent the whole season crowing about a supposed "shift in power" and "Mind the gap" from as early as October. Maybe now they realise the season finishes in May.
Yes things were rosy and a feel good factor was evident for a while after the WBA game, but with hindsight that game summed up the majority of our season - woeful at the back, having to come back from a losing position, and an unconvincing struggle to beat supposedly insuperior opposition (with the help from the oppo gk on that particular day).
But now the dust has settled, we know we will still be appalling defensively next season, the club will still not pay out for the big name signings the supporters crave for, the RVP situation remains unresolved (was Pololski signed to play alongside RVP or to replace him?) and the club still has huge stadium debt which will hamstring us financially for a good few years yet.
In the meantime we have seen local rivals Chelsea win the Champions League and then after a poor league campaign still be able to sign this summer's hottest transfer property in Eden Hazard. No doubt City, United and Spurs will also improve their squads this summer, whereas we will be linked in the media with huge names such as Hazard, M'Vila, Giroud, Llorente etc but only end up buying the poor man's versions of these players... Solomon Kalou anyone?
In short the same problems that were evident all season have not been addressed and will still be there for all to suffer when the 2012/13 season kicks off in August. Until they are addressed the supporter's mood will remain the same.
