Few answers:
OneBard you are on it. The thing with this "someone else will take your place" argument is that it's not actually strictly true. Hear me out: Kroenke and his assistant tard (known as Wenger to you), are relying on interchangeable, day tripping, glory hunting know-nothings to attend. The problem with this business model, is that it's predicated on success.
And Arsenal simply ain't successful enough, or have enough star quality to keep this scam going. Ask yourself: when we were not winning in 2006, 2007 etc, you could at the very least point to Henry, Pires, Ljungberg, Cole, Silva rtc big footballing names. Your model can work then.
When Manure won nothing for 3 years they still had Ronaldo, Beckham and RVN. You'll always pull in the punters.
Liverpool thought they could forever carry on selling their brand, despite not having win the league for over 10 years back in early 2000s. And guess what? They ended up with overpaid overpriced dross like LeTallec, Heskey, Pongolle, Nunez, Barragan and an average brand of football. Remember this is a team with 5 European cups.
Arsenal are in a very similar boat to Liverpool and the parallels ate frightening: for LeTallec read Denilson, for Traore read Diaby, for Biscan read Song etc...actually at least the Mickeys then went on to win the CL again in 2005 and then make another final.
Arsenal day trippers will quickly realise they are following duds, look over the Fulham road at the European champs - where the tickets are cheaper and they get to see better players...and decamp. That's the problem when you cater to the glory hunter: they need glory! At Arsenal you watch mediocre players, average football and it's expensive. Oh and you'll never see a trophy. So, considering there are now more ambitious, successful clubs in London, do you really think the "someone will take your place" still applies? It doesn't. Arsenal's constant failure will erode the day tripper fan base Wenger and Kroenke so dearly adore.
Mikey. Sorry mate but your excuse doesn't fly.
I've been going to the Arsenal since 1983, and there is no chance in hell I can support Arsenal in its current form, economically. You do realise that you contribute towards the malaise that Kroenke has instilled don't you? You can't rally for change and ambition on one hand, but then feed the hand that fucks you on the other. I know what it's like to enjoy with your mates and yes, I do miss going to games but, my club's future is more important than watching a 3-3 draw with Norwich or a 0-0 with Chelski reserves.
