So either
A. Podolski is it
B. There is goin to be a shit load of signings today and tomorrow
C. They meant the other "business" and there is a septic tank somewhere full to the neck with "business"
Agreed, we've been linked with M'vila for over a year and from what I've seen he's already twice the player Song will ever be. If he's available why are we not moving? Podolski simply cannot be the only addition and I understand Montpellier want £50mil for Giroud
We probably have made enquiries about M'Vila's availability but stade rennais understandably do not want to let go of him until after the euro's to bump his price up and receive a better transfer price to re-invest in a replacement. Makes sense doesn't it? So would everyone please stop crying and hanging on every word the club says about getting their business done before the euro's.It will not happen for the reason mentioned above, not just for M'Vila but any transfer target for any club in Europe. Don't expect any deal's til after the euro's people, Van persie included. Save yourself the stress
What you mention makes sort of sense but equally the clubs could be doing themselves more harm than good in that if said players have shit tournaments their value will decrease..........just a thought

But I did hear from one of Herd's "contacts" in the City (an ex-hooligan sort that is now a mega-rich stockbroker but still keeps it real most weekends ) that we are about to sign a new accountant on a three year deal which is just awesome. Looks likely to line up beside Ivan on the marketing side of things. Rumours that he is a 18 year old kid that dropped out of a minor University in France are yet to be confirmed...
There we have it.... Podolski and an accountant, out summer exploits are complete......
LOCKED
More news! Mostly bad though.... this flash young accountant allegedly arrived with some minor damage to his laptop (possibly a cracked USB port?) and after a bit of work from our fine medical staff he now has a broken laptop with a Doomsday type virus infecting all files. We have moved quickly to contain the situation by offering him a contract extension with vastly improved terms!

Also its quite tough to sign the top players when they're all off with their teams for the Euros. Idealy everyone would like it to be done early, but that doesn't necessarily mean 'before the euros'. July is early as that's when the transfer window actually opens.

Technically players can be transferred when their domestic season ends even if it is in may. The reason why july 1st is the accepted date is because generally that is the date when contracts end or when a contract goes from year one to year two or whatever
