Euro 2012

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arshavin had numerous good moments for Arsenal and perhaps more to come.....I think he did care, but the system for me just doesn't suit him..at arsenal

I'll tell you why....apathy comes from within. You make and create your own energy, Sick and tired of apologists for self demotivated, uncaring so called professionals. Arshavin has been unacceptable in his performances and it's all about personal accountability. Add Theo W et al to that list.....can't wait to see posts when/if Theo has 5 good mins for England and it's all then how he's missunderstood/managed and fabulous after all

I agree with much of what you say, especially the bit about it coming form within. But care to explain how someone like Clichy can perform as admirably as he did for Citeh and as shambolically and care-free with Arsenal? Do you not think man management and motivation come into this? When a player performs shockingly and lazily, it is the manager's job to give him a rocket. I will never forget Fergie dropping Welbeck back in 2010 I think, because even though he scored and Manure 4 something at Derby, he was unhappy with his work-rate. He let Welbeck know he was a nothing in the game yet.

Look at Welbeck now? Leading the line at the Euros for his country possibly. Yet he earns less than Denilson

If Arshavin is performing lazily, why then did we see him turn up again in the team the following week? Why when Song fails to track back, is he straight back in the team the following week?

If Mourinho got hold of Alex Song, I guarantee you, you will see a very different player. Management comes into it big time here.

On the other hand Rosicky, LOL

Wow. How is Rosicky the one with that fat new contract and Arshavin the one booted out?

And why has a new manager at Zenith been able to get a much fitter, leaner Arshavin?

Rosicky is playing with an injury. They had to rush him back due to his importance.

Sorry,I'm not having it. These people need to join the real world. Yes, of course good management is important. We all know the value of good direction, how it feels to be appreciated and recognised but it's a rare commodity in most of our working lives. Irrespective of an organisations culture or approach it's up to me to pick my attitude and motivation and how I choose to apply myself. I have no sympathy for over indulged egotists.

Some people will try to play as good as possible even if they don't have to but you can't expect everyone to do so.
If your boss tells you that you can either work hard or do nothing what would you do?

Czech manager shows good tactical sense and brings the defensive midfielder Hubschman on. Wenger would have carried on with the same tactic in this circumstances and ended up getting pasted 4-0.

Czechs score
