As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

M'Vila? LOL Dream on.
ST renewals needed. This multiple transfers business reminds me of all the concrete interest in Benzema three years ago, oh and not forgetting Mata and Mario Hoaxe...Errrm Gotze I meant!
If Giroud signs for £13 mil, Podolski plus Giroud together won't manage as many league goals as RVP. FACT.
I suspect it'll be Poldi and Giroud signed for combined £23 mil, RVP sold for £28 mil. Tidy £5 mil profits, plus add the sale of Arshavin and Djourou and profits could rise to £20 mil almost.
And like last summer though, we'll be told by many Gooners it has been a successful transfer window
THIS!
If we sign M'vila i will give credit, anything less is shite!
8m we are looking for a 31 year old ? Considering what offers we make for other players, I think we might be taking the piss slightly
If there's one thing we've shown with our stubbornness in the transfer market it's that we won't play by everybody else's rules. In the past, that's meant that if a player costs £2m more than we think he's worth because other clubs willing to splash cash are around, we won't pay it and we'll lose out. I just hope it doesn't conversely mean that we'll refuse to sell one of our top earners that has proved utterly useless the last 18 months because we expect clubs to pay twice as much as we would.
Didn't Wenger say a couple of months ago that Arsenal need to make a £20m profit on transfers to balance the books each season??
If we sign Giroud it can only mean they know RVP is off, there's no way that Wenger would sign Podolski and Giroud if RVP is staying. I think it sounds very feasible for Arsenal......sign Podolski for 10m, Giroud for Chamslack + 7m, sell RVP for £28m and call it an £11m profit! Throw in Arshavin sold for £9m and you have a nice £20m profit. Forget Djourou, there isn't a team out there who will pay more than 5m for him and who will pay circa. £50k a week wages??
Gazidis will then say we sold RVP as he wasnt going to sign a new contract and claim we have signed two world class players to replace one. Despite the fact that Giroud is yet another French one season wonder! You can almost hear the spin.
If we could keep RVP AND sign Giroud, AND sign a quality CM, then I'd actually be optimistic goinginto next season for the first time in years. But I don't think that will happen!!
Giroud is the French Kevin Phillips. Journeyman who played for powerhouses like Tours before having one streaky season.
He isn't actually very good, in matches against Lyon, PSG and even Marseille this year his performance in these matches, has been close to diabolical. Sure there's the odd goal there but he won't get to play Lorient, Caen and Dijon every week in England!
Course he would. Podolski plays mainly on the left. If the rumours are to be believed Chamakah is part of this deal. That gets rid of a striker and brings one in. Its quite possible that those 3 could alle xist at the club at the same time

But who's to say this isn't what he wanted all along, and will commit now after seeing the club finally show some ambition?
Anything is possible. Let's hope it pans out well for us in the end.
M'Vila is not world class yet, won't be a guaranteed starter and will be rotated and forced to prove himself.
Totally agree. Think if we get Giroud chamakh aand park will be on their way out- rvp will stay. dad said he wont go citeh. barcewhores dnt want him madrid dnt need him. juve well the italian league is fixed so no point going there,
As I've posted many times, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. There are going to be some mightily disappointed people on here come August! Just in case, The Samaritans

Just got to thinking last night and am wondering if all these strories are just part of a cunning plan by the various media outlets - in recent seasons we have seen the twitcher "plant" questions about his interest in opposition players and the fat walrus c**t at the shammers is also fairly adept at doing it and am wondering if these rumours were fabricated to unsettle french players before last nights game. Before you dismiss it think about it for a minute.....in the last two days we have had giroud joining us, petite pute slagging us off in the media, blanc going to old shatford and benzema going to citeeh and as I said that is in the last two days alone so is it possible there was a different agenda at play here ?
Well I guess it could be called Ironic, but I think a better description might be Mis-management.

Projoe, other contenders may come and go (thats you mc ) but you will always be the king of the transfer threads imo

So maybe if Jack and Arteta AND Kos And TV5 say spend some fuckin' money or we're off....we might just get a Proper Holding Mid-fielder AND a proper, decent CB
