M'Vila? LOL Dream on.

ST renewals needed. This multiple transfers business reminds me of all the concrete interest in Benzema three years ago, oh and not forgetting Mata and Mario Hoaxe...Errrm Gotze I meant!

If Giroud signs for £13 mil, Podolski plus Giroud together won't manage as many league goals as RVP. FACT.
I suspect it'll be Poldi and Giroud signed for combined £23 mil, RVP sold for £28 mil. Tidy £5 mil profits, plus add the sale of Arshavin and Djourou and profits could rise to £20 mil almost.

And like last summer though, we'll be told by many Gooners it has been a successful transfer window
I would expect this as well. We won't sign M'Vila. I can't see Cocquelin and Frimpong not being considered. I think that Bendtner and Vela will be sold this year as well although I think that I would prefer him to Chamakh and Park.

We will make a profit overall.

If we sold Bendtner, Arshavin, Djourou and Vela, kept RVP and bought Giroud - I'd feel relatively optimistic. Yes, I'd like another DM, but I can't see it happening. Also, who would replace Djourou? Bartley? (Please God - not Shittachi!)

the m'vila rumour is rubbish. the purchase was allegedly listed on the french stock exchange, its just a shame that rennes are privately owned and not listed.

interesting data on Giroud from Wiki :
Olivier Giroud (born 30 September 1986 in Chambéry) is a French footballer who plays for French club Montpellier in Ligue 1. He plays as a striker and is known for his size, physical style of play, and heading ability
now i might be mistaken, but this is a pretty similar m.o. to Pod. which makes me think two things - 1) AW is done with lightweight technical strikers, and 2) are we going to see AW change tactics and play with two wingers (ox and Feo) and the old style centreforward and inside right/left ? -

or two physical strikers upfront ? say it ain't so Arsene...

i think he might have potential if played in the right system - 39 goals and 22 assists in 89 games for the french champions in '012 and cup runners in '11 isn't to be sniffed at aged 25.

we still need a decent DM to partner Jack though.

I dunno Augie, i think the bundesliga is pretty physical from what i've seen in munich, but you are probably right about France or Spain.

perhaps we've jus swapped chamakh plus 13 million for the french peter crouch lol.

mvila, pod, giroud all in and rvp staying would be extremely optimistic for next season and give the club credit as they have actually strenghened us significantly.

im afraid it wont happen.

1989 your in dreamland unfortunately. mvila will never be signed, AW has song, coq and frimpong in that position who he wont 'kill'.

giroud will sign when rvp leaves. pod and giroud are no replacment. rvp one of the best players in the world would need to be replaced by someone of equal or near equal standing, but under this regime it will never happen.

I posted on this thread (somewhere), that Song has a new, very recently purchased home in Highgate. I have actually been on the complex.
He has spoken of not disturbing his childrens education here.
He is not going anywhere.
Draw your own conclusions as to whether this means any additions rather than replacements.
