Euro 2012

Good support though from the fans that "are loved around the world".

There's a reason for that

Cesc has changed his game. He's no longer the deep lying playmaker who starred for us. He's a goal scoring attacking midfielder these days.

Stating the obvious but 4-0 flattered us

Most genuine Irish footie fans knew before the tournament that we were a million miles away from being a good team but that doesnt stop the feeling of frustration when you watch the likes of glen whelan plodding around the midfield never getting near the pace of the game or watching McGeady doing his nani impersination (countless stepovers but no fcuking end product)

We left seamus coleman, wes hoolahan, anthony pilkington and james mc carthy at home (I know mc carthy had family issues but I believe 100% that had he been getting game time he would have travelled) and instead brought the likes of paul green who wouldnt get his place in the dog and duck pub team

Augie. You were outclassed tonight, but Irelands performance was not embarrassing.
Plenty of other teams will get the same treatment from Spain, us included.

Some people actually rate this guy he is rubbish. We have a limited pool of players to pick from but surely to fuck theres better out there than this guy and the likes of paul green, paul mcshane dont even have clubs but still end up at a major competition because of trappotonias rewarding their loyalty while the players you mention augie left at home.Spain are so good so to use a well worn cliche at the end of the day we had no hope of getting a draw never mind a win.

Spot on. Any honest Ireland fan knew this was and is the worst Ireland team ever to qualify for a major tournament. Ireland never really had a chance.....BUT Rule number 1 is pick your best team, and trapp hasnt done that since he took charge.

FIrst off no Gibson, who is streaks ahead of both whelan and andrews. He would have provided some spark at least in midfeild.

Long, even though an injury hit season, far better than doyle.....and.....

Cox!!!!!!!!! You what??? The only times he played for west brom was replacing Long.

Stephen Kelly also a far better defender than Ward, and should have started on the right with o'shea on the left.

Trapp has favourates (for some reason). But there is no justification in decisions such as cox ahead of long.

The manager has to take a big part of the blame for the way the team were set up.

Even though we are average, we are better than what we've put on show, spain is understandable, but the croatia performace goes down to having the wrong set up.

Disappointed with Podolski though. I was looking forward to watching our new man, but he didn't attempt anything of note and just looked for the easy pass every time :? didn't try and run at anyone or take players on, or even look for a clever pass. It was almost as if he was the supporting cast and had "give the ball to Lahm, Bastian or Ozil" embedded in his every though

Oh well, I'll have to wait until he plays for us to make any conclusions, because he's not really looking to get involved so far for Germany... and I guess that's fine; there's a lot to be said for being a cog in a well oiled machine. Unfortunately, we're not as well oiled and need star quality. Lets hope he can up his level when he hasn't got the same quality around him.
Podolski has been poor in both games. I wonder why Löw didn´t drop him for Schürrle

Maybe.
Maybe not.
We closed the gap to Spain, so I see a real chance to win that thing.
