Hopefully this is a wake up call for van Persie, he had some of the best players on the planet around him, he wasn't the main.man and he didn't do fuck all.

He is everything at this club and everything is set up for him to excell

Food for thought for his holiday.

I guess this was my masterpiece as I backed them with quite some money to finish bottom of the group :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
In the end it was embarassing. Unlucky against Denmark and you can lose against Germany. But what they showed today.. unbelivable. Sneijder shouldn't waste his time with this anymore.
Oh btw did I mention van Marwijk is a *word censored*?

TBH Portugal look like they could take the whole thing if they play it right. Spain still gotta be favorites though.

I know that he was surrounded by absolute cack but I thought that de jong was fcuking immense tonight 8) I know that I have said this many times but he would be my number 1 buy for this summer - we have a huge need in the DM position and his sheer presence scares the shit out of the opposition players 8)

As for rvp..... Played like a man with a lot on his mind - the only slight positive for him was the fact that the dutch media were calling for him to be dropped instead of huntellar and huntellar was a billion times worse than rvp was  Talking of absolute shit, robben gave his usual big game pile of shite performance tonight  I couldnt decided if huntellar or robben was worse

Anyone still want us to buy Affelay?

I thought RvP looked shattered the whole tournament, like he did in our run in.

Would bet like Augie says that some of that is to do with the uncertainty of where he will play next season, really is an onus on the club to get it sorted one way or the other.

Not to take you to task augie, but I thought de jong was pathetic today. For a DM who knows he had a team set up to attack ahead of him, I felt he didn't shield his defenders at all. I know at 1-0 up win would not have helped the dutch, and he was defending against one of the best in the world, but he was a bit at fault for both goals.

As for your second point...If I was RVP I would also be playing with a lot on my mind. I think it just human nature. I think that the dutch wingers have been found out big time this tournament. Robben seems to just want to cut in and boot it into row Z above the posts. We've all seen the goals RVP has scored the last 2 years, yet the holland wingers "occasionally" decide when they will pass the ball to him. I was one that thought I wouldn't mind a bid on Robben, but from what I've seen from the CL final and this euros, no thank you.

Hard to put a finger on his performances and whether it's uncertainty over next season, the comments from Huntelaar pre tournament which maybe put more pressure on him ??

I personally think he looked tired and his first full season in 8 must have taken it out of him.

lol Is that a subtle dig at RVP? It is true either way though. RVP needs to go home, take an ice bath, have a smoke & a pancake and relax for a few month or two. He's done a lot in the last year and a half.

Afellay? Yeah I'd definitely take him on. A naturally right-sided attacking player, if I am correct? Would be great to have a natural option on that side.

The Dutch once again tripped over their own Massive Ego's,with infighting that beggars belief, and has over the years made them losers more often than not.

Van Persie is of course Knackered, that's hardly surprising as he's never played a full season of club football before,or at least not since his early Feyenoord days and that was a long time ago !
An early exit for the tournament will give him some well earned rest `!
He hasn't boosted his value in the tournament but that wont stop city bidding 25 million for him which we will of course take !

Agreed. De Jong was doing his best impression of Denilson in Portugal's 2nd goal...instead of busting a gut to get to the penalty box. He was anything but immense, that honor would go to Veloso for me. I felt for Van der Wiel, pissing himself everytime Ronaldo ran at him with no help coming from Robben.

Portugal are looking like dark horses, and should at least make the semi's. The only thing they really lack is a quality CF.
