As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I think what RVP wanted to see is the club showing some proper ambition in the market, I'm convinced of this. He's no mercenary, he's a football man and loves the club, is desperate to win trophies and would love nothing more than to do that with us. The signings of Podolski and Giroud is the type of statement of intent he wanted us to show, I'm sure. Let's put it this way, he's much more likely to stay put now that we've made those two (quality) additions.
He won 70% of his aerial duels last season. That's phenomenal. RVP by comparison won only 26%.
Giroud is a target man type striker and will cause mayhem in the opponents box with his physical strength and aerial ability. I hope we take advantage of his qualities. Wenger needs to encourage the players to cross the ball, especially if Giroud is playing. The Ox has a mean cross on him, so hopefully them two will link up well.
Great thing about Giroud is that he's not just a Kevin Davies, i.e. all about bullying defenders. He can play a bit too, has excellent technique and finishing, good hold up play and powerful shot. He can score with both feet as well.
I hate the comparisons with Chamakh. There's no way that joker is even close to Giroud's level.
And finally he's a dreamy looking motherfucker who will make many female gooners swoon.
Why do some people on this forum talk as if they know RvP?
Anyway, has it dawned on anyone else that it might not actually be down to RvP at all and that it might be the club that wants to cash in on him? Wouldn't be the first time we've cashed in on a player (or captain, no less) who is approaching 30. I reckon the club might well be looking to cash the chips in for Robin.
No, the club offered him a massive deal because they want to keep him. He's the one stalling, that's common knowledge.
If your theory was applied to Walcott however then it would make a lot more sense. They haven't even discussed a new contract with him, if you've listened to all the reports.
Red Member wrote:great just what we need - another french player who can't get in their national team who will be expected to replace RVP.
What are we actually aiming for next season - a top 10 finish?
Seriously. At what age did they lobotomise you?
You know nothing about this player and yet you write him off before he has even kicked a ball? All the while talking up the extremely average Feo Feo as if he is the new Bergkamp? Not just posting for a reaction now, are you? You are getting closer and closer to a ban for WUMing, mate.
How many times, in so many threads, so I have to repeat that Rvp will stay?
Though Flash wants rid so he can bitch about him,,,,,,,and walcott too for that matter.
Who wants RVP and Walcott gone? Not me, im one of the few on here that is happy for Walcott to stay
Okee dokee. Buy me a pint when RvP announces he will see his career through with us then?
If RVP says he's staying ill happily buy you a pint as i'll be getting pissed myself... Again i was one of the few banging on about RVP being world class when most on here were saying he should be sold due to his poor injury record 2-3 years ago
Cue Queen's song "Flash"
Flash! Oh Ohhhh!
What a Visionary
He was the only one
Who saw RVP's true ability
Flash! Oh Ohhhh!

It's not about you or us.
McDowell and Flash are having a cock measure contest.
Flash is a few inches short though.
Does that mean flash is know (Officially(ish) ) to be referred to as Small Knob??
Well, alot of the flesh that was orignally intended for his cock must have ended up helping to make his nose. It's the only thing that can explain that Manilow sticking out of the front of his face.

Hafta say there's quite the ring of truth in that part of your staement mate!
I think RVP (at the meeting with wenker and gazidisneakotwat) said you show me willing to invest and buy some 'Quality' players and I'll consider not leaving, and I'll keep schtumm until after the earo-final, then we'll see what's what. Not FACT, but a reasonable consideration when all's said and done.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIINNNGGG!
Edit: We STILL NEED a HOLDING MID-FIELDER who doesn't go gaga and walkabout like song.

Gosh! and there's me thinking THAT Extended Conk (I said Conk) was due to all the inbreeding that goes on in that part of the world.
