As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

All the extra revenue bit is utter bollo.. and petty cash pissing in wind money compared to massive billionaire injection of the 2 blue clubs.
When planned, DB10 was getting 22k per week.
Simple numbers is that 150 boxes averaging 80k per year produces 12million income
That will not even pay nasri or RSVP proposed wages, so all boxes is 1 players post billionaire era wages
Spurs will have same problem which is why struggling on new stadium - simple numbers of 20,000 extra seats for them even at premium price of say 2000 will produce 4 million which pays for van der velt only.
Simple but true and was confirmed and endorsed recently by the LIverpool owners announcement regarding a new stadium and questioning the viability of the new stadium model and that the extra income generated perhaps did not justify the move and it was all about the overseas sponsorship deals
Told you on first posting on 6th may , he is not going away and will pounce when the time and opportunity is right.
Red and White Holdings have a Facebook account under that name that will become increasingly used, Twitter will follow and the charm offensive will start to increase.
Watch out Stan & puppet Ivan, he's coming to get you.
Which is all well and good but patience is not a virtue common to footie fans
The bottom line is that we have been on this current path for a few years now and it has already proven itself incompatible with a successful football team so change is needed as much as wanted - I had hoped that we would see that change in time to convince the likes of cesc and rvp that we are a club on the up but it appears that ship has sailed so if we dont see a change at the top very soon I fear that we will have no quality assests left on our books
The gut wrencher here is that the sustainable business model, that is the gospel according to Gazidis and the board, relies upon the loyalty and faith of the supporters.
Arsenal supporters are unwittingly buying into the Gazidis/Kroenke way of business with each season ticket renewal and buying of merchandise, regardless on success on the pitch.
It is not a criticism, but a fact.
The real gut wrencher after 43 years of me following in my fathers and grandfathers footsteps is that I want us to fail now as success just keeps IG in a job and SK happy. We are in real no win situation as fans .Its not like food where you can switch from Tesco's to Sainsburys in protest and both camps are aware of the overall loyalty factor.
Red and White need to and WILL , more likely sooner rather than later in view of the Premier League rule change, raise their awareness and effectively create a more pro active rather than reactive stance that has occurred to date.
In reality even if you had 10,000 miss a game and watch in the pubs locally or a successful legal protest at a game , live on TV and waved black, green and yellow or even RED and WHITE flags and banners (yes it has been considered, however non active Quartx etc think others are ,naively ) it would not mean that on Monday morning Stan would phone up Usmanov and say "Alisher, well done you have the fans mandate, write me a cheque and all the Yanks will leave on Friday,I give in !!"
We can only try and raise the awareness and repeat the question ...why they won't let him provide his business input or ideas or money.he knows that even if was allowed on the board that with even 33% ie every non SK share that existed, they would still outvote him on every suggestion that is made but the point is that he should at least be listened to and that is what is turning more and more against the existing regime.
profit / break even for 2 years and 4th spot is enough to keep SK happy which chips a bit more off the money he borrowed from Deutsche Bank to buy the club until the new sponsor deals can start !
united had the campaign the scarves and the the new FC utd but it has had no impact on man united ownership BECAUSE they kept winning trophies and achieving their objectives for owners.
Our only chance appears to be failure and losses so that SK chucks the towel in but Usmanov will keep trying and is going nowhere
Stan has paid a lot for control of the club ,dont expect him to spend one cent more.
The only people to blame for the story state we are in are the Duffer that is Hillwood for selling his birthright for a pittance ,David Dein and Fizman !
DD sold out to Usmanov which is another potential positive mhe pulled out of the hat like Arsene Wenger in 1998 so how can he be blamed ?
All the fans and opinion got behind the SK team as much as to be ante Usmanov as pro SK but no one knew enough about either to make such an informed opinion at that stage.
w...ers from Dead Action , yes thats what you are if only for producing the banner v Bolton with the club endorsement and then being allowed to display the love arsenal hate Usmanov at Emirates .The bandwagon allowed and contributed to the mess we are in without enough research or forward thinking.
I bet we can't display a love arsenal hate Kroenke banner and then nexpect a cup of free expensive tea from the marketing team at the AGM in October ?
Lord Payton and AST wanted SK to get control then as soon as he did urged fans to not sell more shares and keep us Independant so he couldn't get to 75%.
On fu..in fanshare shite , what I want to know is if all these holier than thou shareholders that want our ownership spread as widens possible own shares then why do they all keep them in their own name and not sell them to the trust to distribute on to the members ? Self interest as usual.

Why are you quoting my name and insulting me by calling me naive?
Where have I said that a one off protest would make Kroenke resign?

Yes Dein eventually sold out to Usmanov, but initially he went to Kronke - which was ultimately why he got booted out of the club for going behind the boards back.
Dein at one point owned 43 percent of Arsenal shares, (according to the book Arsenal in N5 which I have just re-read) so he was at one point the key player, but decided to sell out, first to Fizman I believe, then ultimately to Usmanov
I was referring to an earlier comment in this listing when you spoke about people like me that needed to take some action and participate rather than do nothing, that is what I was meaning re being naive.
Apologies if needed but please don't cry in the playground about the odd word here or there surely its all about the bigger bloody picture and the general thrust of our discussions, or not ?

But I do not think it naive to protest.
I am under no illusion that a one off demonstration would achieve anything, but a concerted media savvy campaign over a period of time could, if enough people were involved in action that hit the club in it's pocket.
Your entitled to your opinion mate but David Dein isnt a hero .
He bought in cheap and sold out for a very large Profit having never put a cent into the club ,just like Fizman.
Doesn't make him a good person selling to Ushmanov either !
The way forward is far from clear However I do think Ushmanov would invest in the squad ........I dont think that Stans going anywhere though !
