c/league draw
C"mon lads dont get carried away.We are not in Moscow yet.I think its a tough draw as Liverpool are a completley different CL team than the team that has struggled in the league.two finals in three years is no fluke.
I just hope for once the atomosphere at the Emirates can somehow try to much how it will be in the second leg at Anfield. That is going to be some night

While we all think we are going to moscow, please be warned it is not like going to other places. You need to get a visa in advance, and to do that you have to have proof of accommodation. Not sure if they will have special arrangements for CL.

I know this means 3 games versus Liverpool in a week - but, critically, 2 of them are at home!
And Man Utd playing Roma (hopefully they have improved since the 1-7!), then probably Barca, will mean they can't afford to rest players as they may have done against Shalke or Fenerbache - so I think this draw helps our chances of winning the Premier League as well....!!

And imagine the long wait to see whether you are lucky enough to get a ticket (via a ballot if you are lucky!) - and then trying to get reasonable priced flights/hotel....Chippy wrote:While we all think we are going to moscow, please be warned it is not like going to other places. IT WAS INEVITABLE THAT WE WOULD GET AN ENGLISH SIDE AND GIVEN THAT, I AM HAPPY TO HAVE DRAWN LIVERPOOL.
NOT BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT WILL BE AN EASIER TIE. IN FACT, IT WOULDN'T SURPRISE ME IF LIVERPOOL WERE FAVOURITES DUE TO THEIR EUROPEAN PEDIGREE AND THE FACT THE 2ND LEG IS AT HOME.
NO, THE REASON I AM HAPPY IS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONE ENGLISH CLUB LEFT IN IT THAT I COULD ACTUALLY STOMACH LOSING AGAINST - NOT THAT I'D WANT TO LOSE, OBVIOUSLY.
I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A MASSIVE RESPECT FOR LIVERPOOL AND THE WAY THE CLUB CONDUCTS ITSELF, SO IF WE WERE TO GET BEATEN BY THEM, I WOULD BE CHEERING THE SCOUSERS ON AGAINST CHELSEA (WHO WILL MORE THAN LIKELY BEAT THE TURKS). IT ALSO WOULD MEAN THERE WAS ANOTHER TEAM CAPABLE OF STOPPING THE CHAVS FROM BUYING THE EUROPEAN CUP - AND THAT ALMOST MEANS AS MUCH TO ME AS ARSENAL WINNING IT!!
OF COURSE, THE POSSIBILITY OF MEETING THIERRY HENRY IN THE FINAL IS STILL ON AND PERHAPS A CHANCE TO REPAY CHELSEA FOR THAT 2004 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL DEFEAT ALONG THE WAY. ALTHOUGHT I DON'T THINK I COULD BEAR THE THOUGHT OF LOSING TO THEM AGAIN. - SO COME ON FENERBACHE!!!
THE NIGHTMARE SCENERIO IS A MAN UNITED - CHELSEA FINAL, ALTHOUGH, PARADOXICALLY, IT MIGHT END UP BENEFITTING OUR TITLE CHALLENGE IF THEY BOTH STAY IN THE COMPETITION AFTER THE 1/4 FINALS.
ANYWAY, I'M RAMBLING NOW SO TO SUMMERISE: A DECENT DRAW WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE; WE HAVE A CHANCE OF PROGRESSING TO A DREAM FINAL AGAINST BARCA AND A CHANCE TO GAIN REVENGE; I WOULD FEEL NO DISGRACE IF WE DID GO OUT TO LIVERPOOL (UNLIKE LOSING TO CHELSEA OR MAN UTD); IF THE WORST CAME TO THE WORST, EXITING THE C.L. MIGHT END UP HELPING OUR TITLE PUSH.
ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN - THERE ARE EXCITING TIMES AHEAD.

Yes Hleb, I respest the club f Liverpool too. The are similar to us in the way they are more than just about football.
But what of their fans?
Most are fine but they have a a minority of real idiots. Can you imagine Arsenal fans stealing tickets out of each other's hands to get into a champions League final? No.
In the 2001 Cup Final they were trying to steal out tickets off us in Cardiff til we surrounded them.
