Van Persie saga, officially not extending contract.

hey guys first post ever on the mighty forum :D

getting pretty impatient over this whole situation, would love van persie to stay obviously we owe a large debt of gratitude for him for last season, however i think it would be a joke decision to allow him to stay and run down his contract and keep him as our captain. its pathetic that arsene and the board allow these situations to occur. perhaps learn from ya mistakes hey :banghead: i hope he stays and i think he will stay i think we're lucky in a way that barca or real dont seem to want him.

The thing that stands out for me is the suggestion that wenger is ignoring his scouts when it comes to player recruitments and also that there are factions developing within the club.
Whilst the Mail literally makes up stories, the strange transfer pattern of last summer suggests something odd going on between Wenger and/or the Board and other staff at the club in recent times.

RVP contract of £225k per week with #MCFC was agreed in March. The fee to #AFC is the only part of deal outstanding

But some other bloke on twitter is saying:

"Van Persie to resume talks with Arsenal when back from Caribbean break. He's keen to stay, with or without new contract. Ball in #afc court" - David Ornstein BBC Sport journo

BTW, that other quote is from some cock that has something or other to do with radio 5

OK so at this stage of the proceedings only one person knows exactly what the truth is. Obviously the papers can write whatever trash they like. However, if he were to go to Man City then for me that would be the final nail in a few coffins. It would make it a bit more bearable losing him if he went abroad but yet another one of our players chasing the oil money would be just too much. I know Nasri, Clichy and Toure got a medal last year and therefore they'd argue the move was justified but RVP going would just leave such a sour taste.

Anyway what will be will be..

So if he he decides to go to ManCity (or United) would you think of him as you think of Nasri? Just curious.

Personally I think each player is different and it's hard to know what motivates them. I'm sorry to see any good player leave but as to where they go that is up to them. I also would not compare RVP and Nasri to be honest as I think they are different people.

In short No, I would not blame a player for moving to a close rival BUT I would blame the club and think that it should never be policy to sell to our closest rivals.

Can you tell me what the difference would be? Last summer we offered Nasri £100k+ and told him he'd be the main man now that Cesc had gone. This season we're offering RVP £130k and telling him to stay cos he's the main man......in both cases they'd say that Man City attracted them because of medals (oh and £200k is nice too)

Of course Arsenal are to blame too but I'm sorry, in my book they're all fucking mercenaries nowadays and you can't trust any contract or any words that come out of anybody's mouth.

Fuck the lot of 'em.....but if he stays I'll take my hat off to him as he would have restored some of the faith lost over recent years

There is no way that you could compare nasri (or greedybayor for that matter) with the likes of rvp (or cesc) - I know that since he joined the club rvp has spent a lot of time out injured but whenever he played he always gave 100% and never hid or shirked away and always looked capable of producing something where as the lesbo showed 3 months football in 3 seasons and his face was on milk cartons for the rest of the time cos no fcuker knew where the c**t was so adept that he was at going missing

i dont think you can class rvp in the same mould as the lesbian and the whore if he moved to another premiership rival. you couldnt question his commitment at any point in the season always giving 100% however if he went abroad then i would still be disappointed that he has left but could be somewhat more understanding than if he left to go to one of our rivals couldnt forgive him nor the club for that.

Cesc? Completely different story altogether given his roots etc but I don't buy it one bit. They're all greedy fuckers who think that there's a difference between 100k and 200k and a few flash motors. If RVP had any balls he'd sign a new contract and close this bollocks now. Of course Arsenal are to blame too but if RVP had been like Henry and Dennis and given 6-10 years of commitment on the pitch as well as the physio room then maybe I'd wave goodbye in the same friendly way as I did Cesc but I repeat it's just fucking money first and maybe the odd medal second and you'll gather that I've fucking had enough of these greedy fuckers. Fuck 'em
