Arsenal/Germany - both play well, both win nothing

Bit harsh on Germany bearing in mind they have regularly made semis and finals, and that they were deprived of a Euros and WC final by an immense Spain team. We have (in theory) had 4 opportunities each year to win a trophy whereas they have one every 2 years, and we've actually got realistically near to winning very few in the past few years.

Very true. We even fluffed the carling cup. Let's just hope these new signings work out and get us challenging again

I doubt it mate. I feel that Wenger has become a big part of the problem, and that things won't change unless he brings in players who can take the lead on the pitch. He used to have these players, but now they seem to be Wengerites and this hasn't been working.

I don't really think there's anything we could have done in the transfer market to actually be at the level of Citeh and United unfortunately. 19 points is a huge gap to make up from season-to-season, and to be honest I expect Citeh to be better this year. We certainly won't be able to challenge for the PL or CL until the defence is sorted out.

I am talking about different types of player, not the value of the player. And Wenger himself being the problem.

As ridiculous a comparison as I have ever read. I would be quite happy to see Arsenal come close and even ultimately fail in a way the Germans have. At least it wouldn't be through incompetence and capitulation.
