The Liverpool Echo is running the story online as well.

Seems that some people are worried about playing the Arsenal and shouting 'fix'

BTW . . . Has Pancho been kicked off?
Welcome Ginge. This story is amazing. You should have put a summary for the lazy b's who can't be arsed to read the thread. Basiaclly at 10.28 this morning somebody was on the Liverpool Echo website with the draw!  :?

Oh shit, I don't take this stuff seriously but the guy on the Liverpool forum commented at 10:28 am. Definitely something weird going on. And the bookies supposedly not taking bets, can't be a coincidence.

FROM THE MIRROR WEBPAGE

Mystery as Champions League draw appears on internet two hours early
14/03/2008

Arsenal draw Liverpool in Champions League quarter-finals

arsenal, champions league draw, chelsea, controversy, liverpool, manchester united, mystery

(What's this?)Controversy surrounded the Champions League draw today after the full slate of quarter-final ties - including Liverpool v Arsenal, Manchester United v Roma and Chelsea v Fenerbahce - were predicted nearly two hours in advance on the internet.

Though there is no suggestion that anything untoward occurred, details of a supposedly 'rigged' draw emerged on various websites at 10.28am on Friday morning.

It was claimed that the odds of anyone guessing the full draw - including which quarter-final winners would be drawn against each other in the semi-finals - were 191/1.

A UEFA spokesman said: "There is no way the draw was rigged. This was a draw made in front of millions of television viewers and in front of the officials and management of all the club. I just don't see how that can be possible. The balls were not marked at all, they were put in the bowls and shuffled around before they were drawn. I was at the draw this morning and it was all done properly. I cannot understand how this happened."

I just posted this on the other thread . . . .

Cheers lads,

I'm guessing that it's all coincidence but it wouldn't surprise me if UEFA had plans to put three on the English sides on one side of the draw to prevent an all English final.

Couple that with United being in Barcelona's (the favourites) side of the draw it does seem to suggest that some higher power doesn't want two sets of English fans in Moscow.

Of course I may just be a synical old fool . .

No one will ever get to the truth if it is a fix that is. Does seem very suspicious though

If its a fix, then why would they benefit from this draw.
Surely they'd want and manu v barca final!?
