What were you saying this time last year about Gervinho?

Swimmer sinking... quality signings...

Giroud, he's had one full season in a shit French league, getting loaned out to a 3rd Div league side about 2 seasons ago...

Podolski.... well, he pulled loads of trees up last season in a relegated side and at Euro 2012....

This I agree with partly. So far i was quite satisfied with our summer. We made two good signing. I thought that if we kept RvP, and added a few more signings, I would've been very satisfied of our summer business for the first time in a looooong time. But now that RvP is off (no way Arsene and his mates will let RvP's contract go to an end and not cash on him), it means that instead of a striker's order to be something like: 1rst. RvP/ 2nd. Giroud/ 3rd. Poldi we're heading towards 1rst. Giroud/ 2nd. Poldi/ 3rd. Chamack...
I'm sorry but as much as I rate Giroud, he's still unproven in PL and I can't believe arsene plans on making him our No 1 striker with so little experience he has...
May I remind all of you that two seasons ago, Giroud was playing in Ligue 2. He could turn out good like Kos did, but even for Kos who performs remarkably lately, it took him some time to get used to the PL...

in my view van persie is leaving for the money. and i find it pretty easy to understand, would anyone here refuse to change companies to double your wages? fucking hell, 200k a week is a lot of money, plus signing fees and all that.

if he was really worried with the ambition of the team, come on, we just bought one established german attacker and the topscorer in france, if he was upset about lack of quality alongside him i think that has to cease being an excuse - and wouldn't he prefer to win it at arsenal, where he poses with pictures as a kid, is the club captain, claims to be so thankful, and all that?

it's a shame, i honestly thought that with giroud, van persie, podolski and the ox we would have a good striking force next season. how fool of me - giroud was obviously van persie's replacement, not meant to play alongside him.

whoever expects us to sign llorente, falcao etc will probably be disappointed

Swimmer would you agree that rvp has held off making an announcement for the last few months at the clubs request ? Gazidas as much as said so recently so how long was he supposed to give them to get their shit sorted ? I would suggest that he kept quiet for so long cos the club asked him to do so and has only broke his silence now cos of public comments from the c**t in charge and the old duffer in the boardroom

For me I would never blame anyone for leaving a Club. They are treated like assets and I am not in their shoes so I don't want to judge what is best for them or theIR family.

I just think the announcement could have shown more respect for the club and no one here knows what actually went on but I would have thought this announcement is not in the best interest of The Arsenal but only in the best interest of RVP.

Maybe so but we have been stung twice with players who have top scored in French league (chamakh and the forehead) so you pointing to viroid being top scorer in French loses some credibility as a result no ?

What worries me more Augie, is that in one way, the only thing that we could blame on RvP, is that he agreed to remain silent even though the decisions was already taken, until Season Ticket renewal.
That the board ripps off the fans, this is not new, but if now even our players take part in f*cking up the fans...

We failed to match his ambition and surround him with the team mates that a player of his quality deserves. I don't blame him for leaving.
I just think it got to his head. He thinks he is better than he really is. You could see it at the EC.. the guy thought he was the best player out there while he will never! be anywhere near a player like Sneijder.
Van Persie is a really good player but that's it. There are better strikers out there, belive me. He scored a lot of goals for Arsenal because of your system. I am 100% sure he won't score 20 goals or even more in the league next season. I won't say mark my words this time 8)
Just buy Huntelaar and you have an upgrade :barscarf:
Vinny1967 wrote: He is Dutch. What can I say   :box: Just kidding.

I personally think his statement is a load of crap and just using 'club direction' as an excuse.
Apart from RVP Who knows what his motivations for leaving are ?
He came from Rotterdam.. what can I say
Agreed on Huntelaar mate. Always wanted him here. If we get Huntelaar along with Podolski and Giroud next season we'll have one of the best strikeforces in the world.

As for RvP, funny how he's leaving us for trophies now. When we were on the cusp of winning them he was nowhere to be seen, Adebayor contributed more to our title challenges than this perma crocked one season wonder ever did.

Still remember how many gooners wanted him sold when he couldn't get our of the treatment room. His injuries were as bad as Diaby's but the club and Wenger stuck with him.

I'm 100% certain that Man City is where he wants to go. Just another Nasri.
