Herd,
I didn't say DD was a hero , your words, but he deserves as much credit as blame .
You say he bought cheap and sold at a big profit but u think that leaves out a considerable gap of time , history, innovation and investment in our club in a pre premier league era.
DD busted his balls for AFC and spent many a wet night at Barnet reserves, Boreham Wood and some bloody weird far flung away games always trying to help develop the club.He made mistakes, yes , like thinking wembley was a better stadium option, but he also found AW.
His was a long term investment that he threw himself into and cannot be compared in anyway with the quick buck army.
He still sits every home game in block 44 at club level as a real fan and supporter through thick and thin and as you know and have mentioned before he has time to speak to herd members and all fans and most important he CARES.

I expect to see a growing fan support behind Usmanov starting this evening.
Re: USMANOV/DEIN/HILL-WOOD/THE BOARD etc
Seriously, what will it take before we sort our shit out & start letting these cretins know what we think?

Re: USMANOV/KROENKE/DEIN/HILL-WOOD/THE BOARD etc
Usmanov and Red & White are deliberately taking a silent stance at presence because what they want , which is actually more appropriate anyway for them at this stage, is an ante Kroenke / existing regime / existing policy campaign rather than a pro Usmanov campaign.
The facts are that those that are unhappy , which will grow even more now, are unhappy with as RVP says 'the direction we are going in' so our frustration needs to be vented on the SK regime and what they are doing / not doing to help us remain a big club.

Alisher Usmanov criticises Arsenal board over 'lack of investment'
Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov has criticised the running of the club after Robin van Persie announced he would not be renewing his contract.
The Uzbek billionaire has sent a strongly worded letter to the board accusing them of a lack of investment.
"Yet again we are faced with losing our true marquee player because we cannot give confidence we can win trophies," he wrote.
"Where are the safeguards to ensure this doesn't happen again?"
Usmanov's Red and White Holding company has a 29% stake in Arsenal. American businessman Stan Kroenke is the majority shareholder, owning 63% of the club.
Kroenke tried to complete a full takeover of the club in 2011 but Usmanov insisted he would not sell.
More to follow.

The letter is in full on Arseblog and is pretty blunt.
This will blow up.

It really is, the papers will only print some but there's so much in it.
Loved how they dig out the current board for creating their own hostilities internally while trying to make out red and white will destabilize the club.

Off course, van Persie exposed them, Usmanov is going in for the kill.
Re: Alisher Usmanov criticises Arsenal board
A perfectly timed power play by Usmanov. The fans are now likely to side with him. Interesting times ahead on this one.
Re: Alisher Usmanov criticises Arsenal board
As much as I want Usmanov to takeover the club, I think unless he is willing to make an offer then I don't see what he is complaining about, he has already stated that he doesn't wish to be on the board, so is in fact powerless to influence investment.
