Shameless Vanity thread !

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

northbank123 wrote:I spoke to Blackburn 'legend' Kevin Gallacher at a party recently. To be fair he was a very nice guy and we were getting along well with our mutual hatred of Jason Roberts. However, the relationship soured when he was talking about having won the Premier League and I pointed out that not only was Sutton a PL record signing at the start of that season to replace him as Shearer's strike partner but his injuries also restricted him to 1 game that year so he has the same number of PL medals as I do.
Talked to a Blackburn "legend" last week as well. Was staying at a mate's in Darwen (was spending the weekend there for the Stone Roses gigs), went to the pub and met Mark Patterson.
My mate knew him personnaly because his dad is dead famous and respected at Rovers so they talked for half an hour before he introduced me saying I was a Gooner blablabla. He went on about when he knocked us out of the cup in 1994 with Bolton Wanderers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlSoPjKyzjQ), I was expecting him to take the piss out of me but not at all! He spoke of how Ian Wright waited at the top of the stairs in the players tunnel at the end of the game and congratulated each and every one of them. He shook hands with every single player and knew their names. "Fookin brilliant lad that Ian Wright!"
There, you're welcome
