How do you guys usually do it? Play before the Sunderland/Arsenal match then go to the game?

If anyone could provide me some solid details I can plan around, I'll start looking into feasibility with work/etc.

I think it takes like 6 weeks to get a passport these days so I need to get on this ASAP

Not sure that i am able to get down to the proper match, but If I do I will attempt to get down early to watch you guys too, to offer some vocal encouragement and meet some legends, which definately includes our mackem friend.

We'll have to wait until we're able to book the pitch but I imagine it will be (as in previous years) around 10am. We tend to play for about an hour.

Hi all,

Having looked into it a bit, I don't think I will make it over for the season opener. I've really wanted to play in the match against the Sunderland guys for some time, but I hadn't anticipated the game being so early in the season. With the costs of flights etc, I'd rather get a couple matchdays out of the trip - maybe come later in the year and get a Sunday game and then a Champions League or Cup game midweek or such.

Hopefully will be able to visit in the 12-13 campaign at some point nonetheless.

Haven't booked my flight yet cos I am sceptical that it will go ahead - don't want to book a crack of dawn flight or fly over the previous night if this game not gonna go ahead but at the same time I don't know what confirmation I am looking for Fcuking flights are going up with easy passing day too

Absolutely. Chunky is a top manager and a great bloke.

It didn’t help him that his best striker turned up drunk, hungover and with a broken wrist and only managed one shot on target - which hit a seriously fat defenders seriously fat leg! Or that one of the full backs was about 3 foot tall with a dodgy thigh muscle and a taste for brown tracksuits. Or the fact that another certain player was blinded by the shine off his bald head and hit the post from 2 feet out. Or that one of the centre halves wore what can only be described as checkered fatboy swimming shorts and was carrying not so much “a few extra pounds” but rather “a few extra tonnes”. I could go on!

But seriously, it was a great laugh and the banter in the pub after was quality.
