Van Persie saga, officially not extending contract.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Usual crap from Wagner on arse.com and at the end of it all just makes me think we are a selling club with no ambition says the same thing for the last 3 seasons and we end up in profit wish he change the record

A quote from this morning's arseblog regarding the rvp situation -

"Now, there are certainly lessons for us to learn and ways that we can prevent this happening year after year, and I hope we do more in that regard, but in the here and now the only thing we can do is get the best price we can then move on with the players we’ve got"

It appears that this is the first time a saga like this has hit our club  We havent had a situation like this in the past that we could have learned lessons from that would have prevented shit like this happening to us  However on the bright side he hopes we will learn our lessons from this.........after three fcuking summers in a row this clown now hopes we learn from this ?   What a fcuking moron

Who? Wenger or the guy from Arseblog? or both... I'm sure Arseblog and Rigsby are the same person...

Yes, he has turned saying not very much, and very badly, into an art form.

Where's the anger gone? If you've ever heard him interviewed on the radio, you would get the impression that here is someone who doesn't want to say anything too controversial, and wants to be considered as a serious journalist. Unfortunately, he then loses the perspective of a fan, which is in the first place for what he is being interviewed.

Interesting point when Rvp leaves Walcott becomes our most experienced player in terms of games for arsenal a worrying stat .

Will we then have reached the point where no Arsenal player will have played for Arsenal at Highbury??? I'm to frazzled to think of one.

Of all the Arsenal things and statements that have pissed me off in 40 years of supporting them the fact that RVP is not going on tour has hit new heights(lows) . He is an Arsenal player under contract to Arsenal FC, but apparently is staying behind to work on "fitness"... If you play for a pub team and train twice a week with kit-bags for goalposts or if you are a professional footballer getting paid a small fortune by a club that does it's pre season in Asia YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO BE FIT PRE SEASON. That is why you do pre season. Such a crass statement by Wenger is an insult to the club and supporters.

Beggars belief that after all that happened with Fabregas and Nasri, Wenger can still claim RvP will stay after his statement and refusal to go on the club tour. It's blatant to everybody he's going, why doesn't Wenger just keep his mouth shut and just let things run their course?

Still fucked off about the way RVP has handled himself though, complete lack of class and although he carried us last year the very least he owed the club was some fucking respect in leaving, given that we took a punt on him when he was out of favour at Feyernoord and paid him far more than he's been worth over his 8 years as a whole. Hope he goes to Juve, wonder how long it'll take him to realise going to (in my view) the 4th best league in Europe isn't "ambitious"? Hopefully just before he picks up one of his trademark injuries ten minutes into his debut.

Side note: although I despise what City represent and am sick of being a feeder club to them, I wouldn't sell him to United for any sum. If he wants to go with them I would tell him to fuck off and he's going on loan to Barnet for the season.

Not going on tour is the final insult and slap in the face from van Persie.

What makes it worse is Wenger saying he wants to keep him when the world knows we are going to sell.and he wants out.

Why does he insult our intelligence every year?

This will drag on and no one else will come in as Wenger will state he was convinced he could persuade him to stay.

So bored of this shit.
