Really... and you believe that do you... :roll: :roll: :lol:
To be fair, Koscielny, Giroud, Podolski and Mertesacker are also staying behind to work on their fitness, so maybe it's true :oops: :? :lol:

But Walcott and Chamberlin are fit enough to go?

It really is now or never for Diaby, Rosicky and Jack out, Ramsey at the Olympics.

Crucial few weeks in his career.
It's cruciate Gun, cruciate.

Even if Diaby comes back - and don't get me wrong, I would be happy to see him healthy again - he's still not a good enough player. Inconsistent and useless in big games IMO. Does offer us something against lower-table sides though. But definitely not going to be a huge impact even if he does recover one day...

If Diaby can last the pre season and actually play some games it could be good for us .

Only problem is that when him and Song are in the same team what little formation discipline and shape we have goes right out of the window !

Unfortunately Wenger is besotted with him and honestly feels he can still be the new Vierra ...........which has neither the brains or the skill to be !

Agree on the brains part, also nowhere near as good as tackling as patrick was but skill wise he is very good IMO.

Hardly a surprise these days- he'll be out for the rest of the year at this rate.

The Nigeria has now been cancelled. Looks like we won't end up with an entire tour squad falling to malaria :lol:

Wouldn't be surprised if he never comes back.

Wenger quoted on Yahoo saying Jack won't be available until October. What looked innocuous will have kept him out 15 months. It's starting to look very long-term.

Even if Jack is out til he's 21, he still has plenty of career ahead of him. Just have to be patient.

However, it's scary when Wenger is coming out saying "We don't need anyone, unless Diaby or Wilshere aren't going to be fit". Basically he's telling every club across Europe "If we come knocking on your door, we're desperate." Piss poor media management IMO. If anything he should be buying players now to further increase the strength of the squad in the middle. Somehow I doubt we'll get as many healthy games from Arteta as we did last year, Ramsey needs to be playing a less (for several reasons) and I think we're already putting too much pressure on Ox to do a lot more than should be expected of a young player. Of course, we'll wait til someone gets crocked late in the pre-season (Frimpong all over again) and then we'll complain when teams like Rennes hold us ransom for the players we're interested in. Right now we have a "deep squad", but that's including 2 players who have horrible injury records (and one of which is no where near recovery) and that's also assuming everyone of those players stays healthy.

Wenger is not an astute politician. Frankly I think he falls in love a little too much with his own players. Yes you can be like a father figure as a manager, but at the end of the day they're employees, not your sons. Same goes with this RVP nonsense. He wants to leave, he's pissed off half the club's fans, yet Wenger think he's magically going to have a change of heart because we've been good to him. If he hasn't by now, I doubt he will be in the future...

So Wenger is effectively saying that in midfield he will be relying on:

Diaby - a guy that is injury prone, has played less 20 odd games in the past 2 years and only 6 games last season;

Wilshire - who has only one full season under his belt and has been out for more than a year, with no certainty of when he'll return;

Ramsey - another inexperienced youngster who spent a long period recovering from a broken leg and showed last season that he still needs time to regain his proper match fitness and touch;

Arteta - who for the most part played well for us last season but has also had lots of injury problems in recent years and can't be expected to retain his fitness all season;

Rosicky - good player when fit but is hardly ever that for long enough to prove it.

Frimpong - who is a youngster whose general football attitude I like but has hardly played any games for us, suffered two serious injuries in the past year and still has it all to prove;

Coquelin - a very promising player that I believe could be good enough but again is very inexperienced;

Alex Song - who is a player whose lack of 'ability' and general understanding of his position is symptomatic of all that is wrong with Wenger's post trophy-winning Arsenal sides. Little better than Denilson, but with far more arrogance. :oops:

Of course we don't need any more midfield signings because Arsene Knows!! :oops: :oops: :banghead: :banghead: :roll:

Jack leaves it to autumn

JACK WILSHERE will not return for Arsenal until October — at the very earliest.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has previously been unwilling to give a comeback date for the England midfielder, who has been out for a year with ankle and knee problems.

But ahead of Arsenal’s final Far East tour game here in Hong Kong today, Wenger revealed he hopes Wilshere could be back in the autumn.

Wenger said: “Hopefully, we will get Wilshere back playing for October.

With Abou Diaby returning, it will be like signing two new players. This season, the squad will be strong and competitive.”

Wilshere, 20, suffered a setback in May and underwent a procedure on his knee, which was linked to the ankle problem.

He has remained in the gym at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground and is set to resume light training next month.

+++++

FFS... :banghead: :banghead: How many times does he have to come out with this pathetic line.... especially saying it about this useless fucking *word censored* Diaby... he said the same last season about this waste of fucking space also....

I wish Wenger would fucking bore off and take Diaby and the rest of the shit with him... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

One season Wilshere is fucked, I would suggest that Wenger should plan for a future without him but we all know that Wenger doesn't do plans :banghead:
