Signing a 5ft 4" midget playmaker is not a priority you senile old c**t    :banghead: :banghead:

What?

All last season we talked about not replacing Fabregas and Nasri with someone that can pick a pass and now you moan because he's trying to sign someone that can.

Baffled.

Different people have different viewpoints and priorities mate but mine has been the DM position for a few years now - I agree with those who say that we miss that special creativity that cesc brought to the team but I am a George Graham disciple so I believe that if you dont concede then you have a good chance of winning games so shoring up defensively is my priority 8) Hope that has unbaffled it for you
:D It did.

For me, the creative side is what we lack on and not having someone that can pick a pass will make this season very much like last.

We do need a good DM, have done since Flamini left as none of the experiments since have really worked but if he don't buy one then you would hope (well I do) that and injury to Song in min 1 of the Sunderland game would allow Coquelin in, granted he's young but even at his young age I would feel safer with him there and think we could get through, I don't think we can last another year without someone of class pulling the strings.

We got lucky last year on that side but we won't be lucky again.

In regards to the DM position, I would get M'vila and let him, Coquelin and Frimpong battle it out for that position, and sell Song to the fools who pay largest.

funny, DM is probably the position we're best for atm

Diaby, Song, Wilsh, Rambo, Frimpong, Arteta, Coquelin fuck it even Rosicky can do a job there. right now we're really lost for decent wide players.Miyaichi is gonna be off on loan, AOC is great but not enough to depend on, Walcott is poor and will be at his best with competition for places.
Don't get me started on forehead :banghead:

i have to admit that coquelin and song are surely supposed to be defensive midfielders, now how good they are is another question...

me too.

i think we have plenty going forward, but we let in 19 more goals than city last year.

we don't need wingers or box-to box midfielders, we need someone to protect the back four like parlour, petit or giberto did and can pass forwards...

we drew seven games last year and lost 10 - 8 of which were by a single goal.

protect the back four and we'd likely get three more wins (9 pts) and maybe 4/5 draws (4/5pts) which puts us into contention - particularly if those draws and wins are City and Utd and they drop points against us.

George Knew. you build the team on the back five and protect them and then you unlease your pace, creativity and talent. hence his teams also had marwood and limpar on the wing.
