As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I think this will go through. The kid wants to sign for us only.
That would make it 5 summer signings with none of them being a defender though ...oh well look forward to scoring 100 and conceding 70 this season then.

Giroud and Podolski are already signed, no proviso.
Looks very much like Cazorla deal will go through before any RVP deal is confirmed as well.
There's confirmed and CONFIRMED though fella.
Surely not even you would put it past our board to be selling in order to buy?
You have a point because the deal has not been officially announced but i think bringing in these 3 players and wenger publically stating the 3 that are defo on the way out is surely a sign of slight optimism - even for a fella like you?
Have been waiting all week for the Announcement (s)
Looking good though and well done to McDowell for pushing these moves through. In the face of calls for a Rumour thread to be deleted and non stop abuse you are a shining light and I for one appluad your efforts
I agree with LDB when he suggests that these signings have beed made on the back of money expected to come in from van persie's sale so not selling him now isnt an option even if he wanted to stay. I still believe, despite the attempts of others to portray rvp as greedy, that if we had of made some quality signings early in the transfer window it would have been a signal of intent and our captain would have signed a new deal but in the modern day AFC we will only spend what we receive from sales and more often than not we wont even spend that either
I should also say that if this deal isnt confirmed today or early tomorrow then I would have serious concerns about it going through at all - a player wont have a medical until a fee with selling club and wages with the player have been agreed so no reason to delay announcement unless malaga are dragging their heels hoping to avoid selling the guy
I've been all over Wenger's strange decision making like an ill-fitting suit but if (if, if, if, if) Cazorla and esp. Sahin sign then I'd have to say chapeau to the bloke.
He seems to have abandoned his project and has now gone completely bat-shit signing everything with a pulse (so long as they play in front of the half way line). Time will tell if the problems of old have been adressed I suppose though, I suspect we'll still concede more goals than a ship that's been holed below the waterline lets in the sea.

Tob honest this trophy winning thing doesn't convince me one bit.
It's all about the money plain and simple.
Providing we get the players we are in for how can he say that we have no ambition? It's pretty obvious the dollar signs are swinging high.
oh boy who remembers a certain fran merida? where is the man you ask? He is languishing in the 2nd division with Hercules.Downward spiral.Such a darn shame
rigsby wrote:augie wasn't that we did with Podolski? Can be a number of reasons why it can't be announced at certain points.
Anyway even if the wedge is coming in from RVP, 1 player and some shit going out for 3 exciting signings? How is that bad?
Because I have a bad feeling that the upheaval at malaga will cause this deal to collapse (see I can blame somebody apart from the c**ts running our club ) and I fear that they will try to find another way to sort their financial mess and will try to drag this deal out in the meantime
As regards your 2nd point, I am not saying that it is a bad thing to sell your top player and bring in 3 quality players to replace him (IF they turn out to be quality) but I was making the point that these signings were not made in an effort to persuade rvp to stay but were made with a view to replacing him so the whole "will he reconsider now" debate is moot imo. If we do sign cazorla nd sahin then it has been a much better transfer window than us Gooners have become used to (even if rvp leaves) but the DM position and back up keeper positions will not have been addressed and for me they were the two main priorities coming into this transfer window
