he will play in the Wilshere role as Wilshere is still resting his legs.

quite a good move. Arsene knows still then I take it :barscarf:
Still a long way to go squad wise. But no point knocking the manager on the quality of players he's brought in thus far. Could do with one or two additionals.
I am a bit surprised with all the optimism on the forum at the moment. I suppose it is because we havent started playing yet.
does anyone actually think this team is capable of winning anything this season?

Le Ginge

you dont get it do you?
there is no possibility of winning the FA Cup because we are not trying to win it.

when it comes to a crucial FA Cup tie we will always have a more important PL or CL match which takes priority because there is more money in those competitions. The FA Cup is the trophy which we have the least hope of winning.

I don't get much to be honest.

Didn't say we will win it. Said there is a possibility. If we get a route like Millwall did in 2004 I'd back us to get to the final and who knows in a final. We might even turn up for this one.

The point is - you never know. It's a lottery unlike the league where we will have to play the likes of United the weekend after "we had already played our biggest game of the week"  8)

Not strictly true that though, is it?

The elephant in the room is that if Van Persie leaves, we have just one functioning recognised striker in the squad...Giroud.

Podolski is more of a support striker/wide attacking midfielder.
Chamakh is wack.
Afobe is on loan.
Park is to be sold.
Walcott (I think) has only played 45 minutes for us as an out and out striker.

Agree with this,

When RvP goes we'll probably bank the coin so it'll be a toss-up between Giroud & Poldi up front, neither of which are a known quantity in England.

If however, we keep hold of RvP, we may well have an interesting start to the season as I feel we'll score plenty. We'll ship plenty too either way I fear also as I haven't much faith in our left-backs, defensive screening or 'keeper options.

One thing amazes me. Why on earth are we selling our best player by far to our biggest rivals Man United. They dont have a Billionaire yet will pay him what he wants plus the signing fee.
Agree with above post that it only leaves us with Giroud. Its madness at Arsenal these days. Wait and watch Van Persie have a blinding season with our biggest rival. Spurs dont count they are crap

I do too but at the same time it kind of proves that his early efforts around here were 100% wumming.

He is still wumming but from the opposite side of the fence now - wumming is still wumming in my book and I still won't acknowledge his posts

Exactly. Can't believe people are actually falling for it. All he's doing is taking the piss out of the stance that the 'realists' take.

Dzeko would want 150k a week or whatever stupid wage he is on. We should be in for De Jong though.
