Hope it goes ok Stu. Stay strong mateStuartL wrote:Cheers Vinny, move itself went fine. I didn't have a huge amount of stuff to take. (too much Arsenal programmes and Goon.er back issues tbh but I can always ebay them I guess ) I still have a lot of things to get - a settee, table and chairs, bookcase, phone and internet connections but I have the essentials and my girls have come and seen it and said they will be happy to stay there too.
Bit strange as we are away at the mo on holiday in Sherwood Forest a. holiday that I booked and paid for a few months ago - didn't want to cancel as it would be unfair on the kids and I have had a good few days doing archery, crossbow, swimming, badminton and walking the dog with them, so I have really enjoyed that.
I think I will cope better with my own company (tv, music, computer) than she will having to pick up the dog shit, cut tbe grass, make the kids school pack lunches, load and unload the dishwasher and clean the toilets and bathrooms.

Sounds good quality time Stuart and probably great timing after moving out. Will probably be an easier transition for the kids.StuartL wrote:Cheers Vinny, move itself went fine. When I rented first after moving out I was lucky to afford a 3 bedroom and done the two rooms up for the kids so they would have their area. May not be a bad idea, even if it's an apartment so they have somewhere that is their own space with some things for them.
Anyway just wanted to let you know it will get easier.

Hope you don't mind but the bit I highlighted above....and I think some of us who lived through the saga will agree...

Re: Divorce
hope your well mate, tough times i know esp for the kids, i broke up with my ex when my daughter was two and lucky she was too young for it to affect , shes 13 now and happy still to come to me every weekend which is great , i hope your new place is big enough for the kids to stay over as it must be hard for them, kinda sad to read this thread tbh but remember life has to go on and the worse anyone can do is start feeling sad for themself, i went a bit mad for a year or so and went out getting drunk and shagging anything with a pulse but soon settled back into a routine and am now happy married for the last 5 years with another beautiful daughter,
so keep the chin up .

Good to know that it all worked out for you Reb. At the moment I'm not particularly interested in getting involved with anyone else. I've got a 2 bed terrace, which has been completely gutted a.d refurbished, so all in great condition, high bunk with a futon underneath in the 2nd bedroom for my girls. Gonna let them choose their duvets and a beanbag each and will put together a montage of photos from this holiday too.
I am doing good, actually looking forward to putting it all together over the next few weeks.

Re: Divorce
From my experience it's best to leave a few mementoes at the ex's gaff when you leave.... a large trout carcass under the floorboards, a pig's head in the loft and put some dry mix concrete in both toilets. All of this is when you don't have kids so in your case just leave with your head held high, get yourself a nice batchelor pad and start going to away games again.
