Giroud impressed me, genuine strong target man who wasn't afraid to shoot first time.

Like what I saw of him.

So what did we learn? Well, for starters that we're still much too vulnerable in both full back positions and in front of the centre backs; that Chamakh, Mannone and Djourou are still shit; that Arshavin is still unfit and appears not to care; that Song (and Diaby) are still better players in the figments of Wenger's imagination than in reality; that Giroud could be either our next Alan Smith or Marouanne Chamakh; and on the positive side, Cazorla looks like being a brilliant signing if he can survive the challenges of our tough league; that Poldoski knows where the back of the net is and that 'the Ox' is one hell of a promising player who could develop into a genuine World class one.

Finally given the fact he didn't play many minutes, his body language whilst on, added to the poor reception he received from the fans, RVP is almost definitely a gonner.

Actually misread "gonner" as "gooner" and spent at least two minutes wondering where the fuck you'd got that from. He's definitely gone, almost inevitably going to be a late mover for under £20m.

From what I heard Cazorla was very promising and I genuinely think he could be PL signing of the summer if he settles in. Podolski should be useful and adds a consistent option to the squad. Giroud could be a real handful, in reality a strong first season where he beds in, plays plenty of games and scores quite a few goals would be promising, but unfortunately presuming RvP goes then we'll need more than that from him.

On the plus side, we won 4-0, definitely winning the league this year :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Had we pushed, we'd beat them 10-0. We look much better as a side on the ball. Off the ball, the issues appear to remain, midfield too loose, even though the team in general tries to play in a more compact fashion. Cazorla can be great for us.

We looked good as a team and the new boys looked good to. Let's not forget though that the guys we played have been relegated from the German league and might have made us look better!

Pre Season Friendlies tell us nothing ,lets see who is at the Club come Saturday and go from there.

We are overloaded up front and threadbare at the back specially left side !

If RVP is being sold late then dont pick him under any circumstances ,dont bother with lardshavin or chamakh !

I know it was only 45 minutes in a friendly against mediocre opposition, but Cazorla looks a special player! 8)

Would be interested to hear from any fans that attended to let us know what reception RVP got from us?

only seen 12 min highlights but we looked very good 1st half
Cazorla tasty, Theo and Ox linking up well. Giroud + Podolski being played in their best positions and doing well straight away
still worries at fullback and not really sure who will start the season
the highlights favoured 1st half Gibbs looking good - guessing Santos will start though...?
will Yennaris start ahead of Jenkinson?
Mannone looked shaky - their young keeper was brilliant (not sure of name, Thorn/Horn?) we should keep our eye on him

I think it was ze germans booing him as their countires have bad blood in football. That said, if any gooners did boo him, them fair enough. Hes made his bed in all that,
