I'm foolishly going to respond to red as though he's an actual poster
even though its now clear hes 100% on the wind up
Red Member wrote:I still dont get the optimism - we don't even know who the Arsenal captain will be next week, it is shambolic.
never understood why people care about this. Over a post match pint ask whoever sits with you next weekend who Sunderland captain was, bet most of them don't know. I've played loads of low level park football without any memory of who our captain was, let alone the oppositions. Its not cricket FFS.
Red Member wrote:I will settle for a 1-1 draw. I suppose a win is possible but only because Sunderland look to have one of the poorest teams in the PL this season.
no team in the Prem would 'settle' for a home draw with Sunderland (or any nonCL chasing side). It's a totally ridiculous statement that nobody can possibly believe is true...
OK I can't respond as if he's an actual poster - red seriously reign this shite in
there's no point in posting stuff that nobody could ever believe

there was a terrible pass across the defence that they nearly scored from,
not sure if it was Yennaris or Coquelin...

I think the shocking pass was by Coquelin and I hope Yennaris starts as he always looks far more comfortable and assured than Jenkinson despite them having very similiar experience and RB supposedly being Jenkinson's natural position and not Yennaris'

Jenkinson's final game before injury last season (Bolton H?) he was very good
overlapped well, delivered lots of good crosses

I remember Yennaris having one very good game at RB but not who it was against

(one each isnt exactly brilliant)

But surely must be grounds for a new bumper wage deal for each of the players concerned ?

O'Neill will have his team well drilled and the bus will be neatly parked . Early goal obviously changes everything but expect them to try and repel everything thrown at them similar to their game with the **** late last season. Good early test for Cazorla to try and pick the tightest locks. Like the option then of trying to seek out a mini battering ram that is Giroud should it be necessary. Jeez, striking options, what would we have given for either of Podolski or Giroud over the last few seasons e.g the pitiful substitutions against Milan in the CL last year when we were crying out for a player who could make a difference. My heart sank that night when Chamakh entered the fray :banghead: 2-0 to us with Podolski scoring on debut

I see you've all but signed Steven Fletcher. Although a bit overpriced he's a good acquisition for SAFC. One of the best goal poachers in the league imo. Will he be fit in time for Saturday mate what do you reckon?

I'd like to see Jenkinson play RB as I think his crosses will be good for Giroud/Poldoski.
Already nervous about silly free kicks being given away with Larsson dead ball skills.

Very little chance of him being in for Saturday mate, Wolves aren't blinking on the transfer fee demand of about £15m despite Fletcher's transfer request and as they're a well ran club financially they can't really be pressured into selling him. I think we'll get him, he's obviously MoNs number one target but it'll probably be right at the end of the window when either we blink and pay their valuation as an upfront fee or when they blink and realise they don't want to be left with a player who is demotivated and doesn't want to be there. Really can't see a bid accepted, terms agreed and the lad being ready for a match on Saturday. He'll be a good signing for us like, just what we need (someone who can lead the line, decent on the ground, should get on the end of some of the decent crosses we put in). Looks like we might lose Sessegnon to Spurs though but at least we might get Defoe coming the other way

I think Yennaris had a good game against Man U at home last year. I think he was brought on after they tore apart Djorou in the first half so I suppose he was always going to look good compared to that useless c**t

Still reckon Yennaris is the better defender than Jenkinson althogh Jenkinson does offer more going forward, but I would go for the better defender as McClean down the left could well be their biggest attacking threat

Isn't it a bit depressing though comparing Yennaris and Jenkinson? I mean they are both hardly world class players.
